Redeclaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road State Highway No. 2

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 12 December 1984 and pursuant to section 153 of the Public Works Act 1981, hereby declares that part of State Highway No. 2 Featherston to Rimutaka Summit section for half its width on the northern side commencing in line with the eastern boundary of Part Section 491, certificate of title 18A/334 and extending 8 metres westwards along the frontage of the said Part Section 491 as more particularly shown on Sheet 1, Plan LA 51/17/3 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Trentham and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of decision No. 106 of the Commerce Commission dated 13 December 1984. By this decision the Commission consents to the merger or takeover proposal whereby Wilson & Horton Ltd., or any wholly owned subsidiary, may acquire 50.1 percent of the shareholding in United Publishing & Printing Company Ltd. In terms of section 81A of the Act, Wilson & Horton Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the shareholding in the United Publishing & Printing Company Ltd.

Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of decision No. 108 of the Commerce Commission dated 20 December 1984. This decision approved an Individual Resale Price Maintenance application made by Williams & Kettle Ltd., relating to an advertising and specialising programme operated by that company for the GHB banner group members.

Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of decision No. 107 of the Commerce Commission dated 19 December 1984. By this decision the Commission consented to a merger or takeover proposal whereby Independent Newspapers Ltd., would acquire more than 50 percent of the shareholding in the Timaru Herald Company Ltd. In terms of section 81A of the Act, Independent Newspapers Ltd., may acquire up to 100 percent of the shareholding in the Timaru Herald Company Ltd., without further application.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education and the proprietors of the following schools:

St Teresa’s School, Karori;
St Joseph’s School, Waitara;
St James School, Palmerston North.

The said supplementary integration agreements will come into effect on 5 December 1984. Copies of the supplementary integration agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the Department of Education, Head Office, National Mutual Building, Featherston Street, Wellington and at regional offices.

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 26 October 1984, revoked the under-mentioned standard specifications.

(Superseded by the new edition NZS 4203:1984)

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Amendment Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 4452/A2 Draft Amendment No. 2 to NZS 4452:1974 Code of practice for construction of underground pipe sewers and drains.

This draft amendment will remove any provisions applying specifically to one type of pipe e.g., unplasticised PVC, and will update the standard in line with current knowledge and practice in the construction of small diameter sewers and drains.
