PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows:
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Hamilton 1984, No. 23.

The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

The Auckland Technical Institute Notice 1984
PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
- (1) This notice shall be cited as the Auckland Technical Institute Notice 1984.
(2) This notice will come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

There shall be a Board of Governors to be known as the Council of the Auckland Technical Institute which shall control the Auckland Technical Institute.
-
The Council of the Auckland Technical Institute shall be constituted as follows:
(a) Two members appointed by the Associations of Employers in local industries listed in the First Schedule of this notice;
(b) Two members appointed by the Associations of Employees in local industries listed in the Second Schedule of this notice;
(c) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects;
(d) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the Institution of Professional Engineers, New Zealand;
(e) One member appointed by the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants;
(f) One member appointed by the Auckland City Council;
(g) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Auckland;
(h) One member appointed by the Northern Region of the New Zealand Secondary School Boards’ Association to represent the controlling authorities of secondary schools in the area in which the Institute is situated;
(i) One member who shall be the Principal of Auckland Technical Institute;
(j) One member who shall represent the teaching staff of the Auckland Technical Institute and shall be elected by full-time teaching staff employed by the Board of Governors and who shall be a teacher employed by the Board;
(k) One member who shall represent the full-time non-teaching staff of the Auckland Technical Institute and shall be elected by full-time non-teaching staff employed by the Board of Governors and who shall be employed by the Board;
(l) One member jointly appointed by the City Councils of East Coast Bays, Takapuna and Birkenhead and the Borough Councils of Devonport and Northcote;
(m) (i) One member who shall be a student of the Auckland Technical Institute and who shall be appointed by the Auckland Technical Institute Students Association for a term of office of 1 year;
(ii) The member appointed pursuant to sub-paragraph (i) of this paragraph shall hold office from the 1st day of February until the last day of January in the subsequent year and if on that date the appointment of a successor has not been notified to the Council, that member shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment is notified;
(n) Not more than 3 members may be co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.
