The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Revoked

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 31 May 1984, revoked the under-mentioned standard specifications.

NZS 1359:1967 (BS 2520:1967) Barometer conventions and tables (A later edition of this British Standard has been endorsed as suitable for use in New Zealand).


NZS 2250:—Rigid PVC conduit and fittings for electrical wiring— Part 1:1969 Conduit. Part 2:1970 Fittings. (Superseded by NZS 6207:1982 already in use).

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 31 May 1984, cancelled the endorsement of the under-mentioned specifications.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Amendment Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification
DZ 8709/A Draft amendment A to BS 5852: Fire tests for furniture— Part 2:1982 Methods of test for the ignitability of upholstered composites for seating by flaming sources.

This draft amendment will place on record the declaration of BS 5852:Part 2:1982 as a New Zealand Standard. It will also amend the specification for New Zealand requirements.

BS 5852:Part 2 describes methods of test for assessing the ignitability of upholstered composites for seating, such as covers and filling, from flame sources just greater than a burning match up to the equivalent of 4 double sheets of full size newspaper.

Copies of BS 5852:Part 2:1982 may be ordered from the Sales Section at $48.40 per copy. Amendment A gratis.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 21 September 1984.
