978 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 44
GAME AND JUNIOR GAME SEASON LICENCES AND LICENCE FEES
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Regulations 1955, Amendment No. 9, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby prescribes the classes of licence to hunt or kill game that may be issued by an acclimatisation society in New Zealand for the 1983 open season for game, and approves the licence fees set and payable in respect of each class and the conditions attached thereto.
Class: New Zealand Game Season Licence.
Fee: Twenty dollars ($20).
Conditions: A New Zealand Game Season Licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in all acclimatisation districts of New Zealand. The holder of the licence shall be subject to the conditions and daily possession limits specified under the Second Schedule for the acclimatisation district in which the hunting or killing of game takes place.
Class: Junior North Island Game Season Licence.
Fee: Ten dollars ($10).
Conditions: Junior North Island Game Season Licences may be issued to persons up to 16 years of age or pupils attending school full time. The licence shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game within the acclimatisation districts of, Central North Island Wildlife Conservancy, Hawke’s Bay, Stratford, Taranaki, Tauranga, Wanganui, Wellington, and Whangarei. The holder of the licence shall be subject to the conditions and daily possession limits specified under the Second Schedule for the acclimatisation district in which the hunting or killing of game takes place.
The provisions of the Arms Act 1958 apply with respect to firearms used in accordance with the licence.
Class: Junior South Island Game Season Licence.
Fee: Five dollars ($5).
Conditions: Junior South Island Game Season Licences may be issued to persons up to 16 years of age and shall enable the holder to hunt or kill game in all acclimatisation districts of the South Island. The holder of the licence shall be subject to the conditions and daily possession limits specified under the Second Schedule for the acclimatisation district in which the hunting or killing of game takes place.
The provisions of the Arms Act 1958 apply with respect to firearms used in accordance with the licence.
The notice published in the supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 38, 1 April 1982, p. 1142—Game and Junior Game Season Licences and Licence Fees is hereby revoked.

Special Conditions

Excepting that temporarily moored floating stands may be used, no person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Waikare any stand, hide, maimai or loo, which is permanently fixed to the lake bed except within 180 metres of the outer margin of the said lake, or the shore-line of that island known as Motu Nui or Grape Island.

No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Ngaroto any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, except within 85 metres of the margin of the said lake.

No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Rotokauri any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, on any open water of the said lake.

It shall be an offence for any person to wilfully leave on the hunting ground any black swan(s) shot or the mutilated bodies of any black swan(s) shot.

It shall be an offence for any person to herd or drive black swan(s) for the purpose of hunting or killing them.

It shall be an offence to shoot game from any unmoored boat on the Waikato River north of the boat ramp at the confluence of the Mangawara Stream and the Waikato River at Taupiri on any of the first three days or the second weekend of the open season.
