Notice of Approval of Bylaws

I, Alexander King Ewing, Controller Marine Administration, pursuant to sections 8A and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby approve the Lakes District Waterways Authority Bylaws 1983, made by the Lakes District Waterways Authority and adopted on 30 September 1983.

PURSUANT to sections 69 and 94 of the Animals Act 1967 and to a delegation from the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries, under section 10 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act 1953, for the said sections 69 and 94, the director, Animal Health Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, hereby gives notice that the wool marking preparations set out in the Schedule hereto (a product of Lumina Limited, Waipahi) are approved for sale and use in marking wool on sheep.

The Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 4,
1983

PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 4, 1983.

  2. It is hereby declared, as requested by the National Roads Board, that the State highways as set out in the Schedule hereto shall belong to the class set out in the said Schedule.

  3. So much of the notice dated the 13th day of June 1980† which relates to the classification of the highways described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE
CLASSIFIED IN CLASS ONE

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne): from Te Uhi Pa Road (RP 516/15.47) to the Wairoa Borough boundary (RP 516/16.40).

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth): from Charleston (RP 351/9.58) to Ten Mile Creek (RP 403/11.04).

No. 70 State Highway (Kaikoura-Culverden via Waiau): from the beginning of the said State highway at Kaikoura to the Mason No. 2 River Bridge (RP 72/3.58).

Environmental Impact Report Notified Kawerau-Opotiki-Gisborne
Natural Gas Pipeline

THE Commission for the Environment has received an Environmental Impact Report on the Natural Gas Corporation’s proposal to construct a pipeline between Kawerau and Gisborne.

In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Procedures, written submissions are invited on the environmental implications of the proposal. Submissions should be sent to the Commission for the Environment before 5 p.m. on Friday, 16 December 1983. It is requested that these be made in dark legible script on A4 sized paper.

The Environmental Impact Report may be inspected at public libraries in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin and the 7 university institutions. It may also be inspected at the following Poverty Bay and Eastern Bay of Plenty locations:

H. B. Williams Memorial Library, Gisborne.
Kawerau, Whakatane, Opotiki, and Waikohu (Te Karaka), public libraries.
Main offices of the Opotiki and Waikohu County Councils.
Matawai Post Office.

Copies of the Environmental Impact Report may also be purchased, at a cost of $10 per copy, from the offices of Murray North Partners Limited in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Gisborne, and Wellington.

The Commission for the Environment is located on the First Floor, CPD House, 108 The Terrace, Wellington. Mail should be addressed to P.O. Box 10 241, Wellington.

Declaration of Vehicle with Motorcycle Controls to be a Motorcycle

PURSUANT to section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, and pursuant to an instrument of delegation dated the 29th day of September 1983, the Chief Controller Land Transport Policy, hereby declares that the vehicle described in the Schedule hereto is a motorcycle for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

THE 3-wheeled vehicle with motorcycle controls and a 450cc Honda engine bearing the engine number CB 450E 5043515, built in 1982 by Mr P. J. Lane of Blenheim.

Import Licence Tendering: Round Eleven

It should be noted that the second allocation of tubes and tyres under the import licence tendering scheme as printed in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette on 28 October 1983, is subject to the same condition as the first allocation, namely,

“No single group of companies is allowed to win more than the specified maximum number of units a tenderer may bid for as advertised under each tender for tubes and tyres. A group of companies is regarded as those companies associated by a 25 percent or more direct or indirect common investment. Licence will be withheld entirely from any group of companies going beyond this limit.”
