Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, and pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Robert Norman Abram, Chief Automotive Engineer, hereby approve for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

SAFETY helmets manufactured by Arai Helmet Ltd., bearing the model designations S-75, RMX and RX-7 and bearing the certification mark of the Snell Memorial Foundation, Performance Standard 1980.

The Road Classification (Manukau City)—Notice No. 1, 1983

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Manukau City) Notice No. 1, 1983.
  2. The Manukau City Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.
  3. So much of the notice dated the 1st day of June 1982† which relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

The Traffic (Takapuna City)—Notice No. 1, 1983

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, and pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and pursuant to a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Takapuna City) Notice No. 1, 1983.

The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

The Traffic (Takapuna City) Notice No. 1, 1982, dated the 7th day of December 1982†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within the Takapuna City:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 120 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Target Road to the northern end of Bush Road and from a point 120 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said State Highway from The Avenue to the boundary with Rodney County.

No. 18 State Highway (Brighams Creek—Albany).

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 120 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Target Road to a point 300 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Glendhu Road and from a point 120 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said State Highway from Oteha Stream Bridge to the northern end of Bush Road.

East Coast Road: from Arran Road to Glenvar Road.

Rosedale Road: from East Coast Road to a point 960 metres measured westerly, generally, along Rosedale Road from East Coast Road.

Spencer Road: from East Coast Road to a point 480 metres measured westerly, generally, along Spencer Road from East Coast Road.

Schnapper Rock Road: from its southern intersection with the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 600 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from the said State Highway and from its northern intersection with the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 350 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said road from the said State Highway.

Sunset Road: from Target Road to a point 120 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Sycamore Drive.

The Avenue: from No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 970 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said road from the said State Highway.
