DZ 3609/AL Draft Amendment No. 1 to NZS 3609:1978 Timber ladders. Gratis

This draft amendment gives a degree of flexibility, removes minor technical confusion, provides an additional technical requirement, and includes NZSR 6:1964 with minor amendment as Appendix H.

NZSR 6:1964 The care, use, and maintenance of timber ladders, will be revoked concurrently with the declaration of this amendment.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15–23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 31 August 1983.

Declaration as Special Purpose Roads

Pursuant to section 12A of the National Roads Act 1953 (as amended by section 3 of the National Roads Amendment Act 1980), the National Roads Board hereby determines that the carriageway of the sections of public highway described in the Schedule below shall be special purpose roads.

SCHEDULE

DAWSON FALLS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at the northern limit of Manaia Road as fixed by the position of Radius Line, and extending generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 6 km to its terminus at the Dawson Falls Hostel as more particularly shown on Survey Office Plan No. 9740, Taranaki Land District.

EAST EGMONT ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at the western limit of Pembroke Road, as fixed by the position of Radius Line, and extending generally in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 8.3 km to Jacksons Lookout and as generally shown on Survey Office Plan No. 9740, Taranaki Land District.

RADIUS LINE HOSTEL ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at the western limit of Egmont Road as fixed by the position of Radius Line, and extending generally in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 10 km to its terminus at the entrance of the North Egmont Hostel as shown on Survey Office Plan No. 9740, Taranaki Land District.

THE BRUCE ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at the southern terminus of State Highway 48 and extending in a generally southerly direction along the line of the existing road for a distance of 5.6 km to the junction with the formal loop road at Iwikau Village and thence along the left hand branch of the loop road for a distance of 0.75 km to a point known as The Terminus.

OHAKUNE MOUNTAIN ROAD

ALL that section of road being the Ohakune Mountain Road commencing at its intersection with Thames Street in Ohakune Borough and extending generally in a north-east direction for a distance of approximately 16.5 km along the formed legal road more particularly shown on the Wellington Land District Survey Office Plan Nos. 25632, 25633, 25634 and 28594.

SANDY BAY AND STOCKADE ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 at Onepoto, being 1.53 km north of the Kaitawa Hydro Station turnoff, and extending for a distance of approximately 1.6 km to Lake Waikaremoana at Sandy Bay and beyond to the site of the Constabulary Redoubt.

HOME BAY ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 being 1.49 km south of Aniwaniwa, and extending for a distance of approximately 0.45 km to Home Bay.

HOPURUAHINE LANDING ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 being 0.57 km south of the Waiotukupuna Bridge and 1.19 km south of the Caskade Falls, and extending for a distance of approximately 2.4 km to Lake Waikaremoana at the Hopurua hine Stream.

MOKAU LANDING ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 being 1.05 km north of the Mokau Falls and Bridge, and extending for a distance of approximately 1.28 km to Lake Waikaremoana at the Mokau Stream.

PAPAKORITO FALLS ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 being 60 m south of the Aniwaniwa Stream Bridge, and extending for a distance of approximately 1.6 km to the Papakorito Falls.

ROSIE BAY ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 38 being 2.18 km north of Onepoto, and extending for a distance of approximately 0.48 km to Lake Waikaremoana at Rosie Bay.

BALL HUT ROAD

ALL that section of road being the Ball Hut Road commencing at its junction with State Highway 80, and extending for a distance of approximately 13 km via the Hooker River Bridge and running generally due north up the Tasman River Valley to Huskey Flat.

FOX GLACIER ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road being the Fox Glacier Access Road commencing at its junction with State Highway 6, and extending generally due east up the north bank of the Fox River for a distance of approximately 4.6 km.

FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER ACCESS ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 6 at the west end of the Waiho River Bridge, and extending generally due south up the west bank of the Waiho River for a distance of approximately 4.6 km to Trident Falls.

HAAST-JACKSON BAY ROAD

ALL that section of road commencing at a point on State Highway 6 at the west end of the Haast River Bridge, and extending generally in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 48.9 km to the Jackson Bay Wharf.

Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road, State Highway No. 1

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 20 July 1983 and pursuant to section 153 of the Public Works Act 1981, hereby declares that part of State Highway No. 1 (Awanui to Bluff) from the southern abutment of Omhi Creek Bridge for 6.3 km southward to the southern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 6242 as more particularly shown on Sheets 1 to 3 of plan L.A. 63/13/1 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Christchurch and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 20 July 1983 and pursuant to section 153 of the Public Works Act 1981, hereby declares that part of State Highway No. 3, Spicers Road, Otorohanga to Mangapu Bridge for its full width commencing at the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 26191 (certificate of title 26B/54) and extending southwards for 800 metres across the frontages of the said Lot 1 and Lot 2, D.P. S. 26191 (certificate of title 26B/55) and 5B2C2 and 5B2C1B, Pukeroa-Hangatiki Blocks (certificate of title 26B/56) as more particularly shown on Sheet 1 of plan L.A. 26/46/4 and accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Te Kuiti and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.
