Declaring Land Acquired for Railway Purposes at Helensville
PURSUANT to sections 24 and 30 of the New Zealand Railways
Corporation Act 1981 and section 20 of the Public Works Act 1981,
the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Corporation
hereby declares that an agreement to that effect having been entered
into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby acquired
for and on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen for railway purposes,
from and after the 28th day of July 1983.

Declaring Land Set Apart for Railway Purposes at Waiota and
Not Now Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to sections 24 and 30 of the New Zealand Railways
Corporation Act 1981 and section 42 of the Public Works Act 1981,
the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Corporation
with the prior written consent of the Minister of Railways, hereby
declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown
land, subject to the Land Act 1948, as from the 28th day of July
1983.

Petone Technical Institute Notice 1977, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister
of Education hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Petone Technical Institute
Notice 1977, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together and
deemed part of the Petone Technical Institute Notice 1977* (here-
after referred to as the principal notice).
(b) This notice shall come into force on its date of publication in
the Gazette.

Clause 3 (h) of the principal notice is hereby amended to read:
3 (h) “One member who shall represent the staff of the Petone
Technical Institute and who shall be elected by permanent full-
time tutors and permanent full-time ancillary staff employed
by the council and who shall be a permanent full-time tutor
employed by the council” -
Clause 3 (i) of the principal notice is hereby amended to read:
3 (i) (i) “One member who shall be a student of the Petone Tech-
nical Institute and who shall be appointed by the Petone Tech-
nical Institute Students’ Association for a term of office of 1
year”
3 (i) (ii) “The member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (i) of
this paragraph shall hold office from the 1st day of February
until the 31st day of January in the subsequent year, and if on
that date the appointment of a successor has not been notified
to the Council, that member shall continue to hold office until
the date on which that appointment is notified”
- Clause 4 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended to read:
4 (3) Except in the case of a casual vacancy or as is provided in
clause 3 (i) (ii) of this notice, every member shall hold office
until the 31st day of August in the third year after the year of
his appointment or election, and if on that date the appoint-
ment or election of his successor has not been notified to the
council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which
the appointment or election is notified.
