Agricultural Training Council Notice 1982

PURSUANT to section 15A of the Vocational Training Council Act 1968, the Minister of Labour hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Agricultural Training Council Notice 1982.

  2. There shall continue to be an industrial training board which shall be known as the Agricultural Training Council and shall comprise the following members:

(a) Four members appointed by Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc.);

(b) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Fruit-growers Federation Ltd., the New Zealand Vegetable and Produce Growers’ Federation Ltd., and the New Zealand Nurserymen’s Association (Inc.), acting jointly;

(c) One member appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference and the New Zealand Trotting Conference, acting jointly;

(d) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Council;

(e) One member appointed by the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries;

(f) One member appointed by the Director-General of Education;

(g) One member appointed by the Vice Chancellor’s Committee on the joint recommendation of Lincoln College and Massey University;

(h) One member appointed by the Secretary of Labour;

(i) One member appointed by the New Zealand Farm Workers’ Association;

(j) One member appointed by the New Zealand Workers’ Industrial Union of Workers;

(k) One member appointed by the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (Inc.); and

(l) One member appointed by the Technical Institutes’ Association.

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the members of the Council shall hold office for a period of 3 years, but may, from time to time, be reappointed.

(2) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing addressed to the Council or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from 3 consecutive meetings of the Council, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as possible thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.

(3) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed member of the Council shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.

(4) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

  1. (1) A deputy member may be appointed in the same manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that member and act in the event of the absence of that member from any meeting of the Council.

(2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1) of this clause, he shall be deemed to be a full member of the Council. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so.

  1. The Agricultural Training Council Notice 1975* is hereby revoked.

New Zealand - Australia Free Trade Agreement

PURSUANT to Article 3 of the New Zealand-Australia Free Trade Agreement Act 1965, the products in the following list will be added to Schedule A of the Agreement from 1 July 1982. Duties, where applicable, on these products in both Australia and New Zealand will be reduced and eliminated in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Agreement.
