State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Papakai Ecological Area—Auckland Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the various areas of land described in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart and dedicated for the purpose of preserving the only virgin tract of high altitude kauri-podocarp-hardwood forest in the Coromandel region. The area of land so dedicated shall be known as Papakai Ecological Area.
