Commencing at the north-eastern corner of King Country Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, and proceeding southerly and westerly along that boundary and the northern boundary of Eltham County to the western boundary of South Ward, Stratford County; thence north-easterly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of North Ward to the Stratford County boundary; thence westerly along that county boundary and northerly along No. 3 State Highway to the boundary of Inglewood Borough; thence westerly and northerly along the boundaries of that borough and northerly along No. 3A State Highway to the boundary of Taranaki County; thence northerly along that boundary to the mean high water mark of the sea; thence north-easterly along that water mark and south-easterly along the boundaries of Waipa and Tongariro Electoral Districts to the Moawhango River (West Branch).
NEW PLYMOUTH

Comprises the New Plymouth Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701.
TARANAKI
Population: 32 174 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Waimate West County and proceeding northerly along the mean high water mark of the sea to the boundary of King Country Electoral District; thence southerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of West Ward, Eltham County, and the northern and western boundary of Hawera County to the mean high water mark of the sea, excluding therefrom the New Plymouth Electoral District.
WANGANUI
Population: 32 573 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises the Wanganui Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, excluding the suburbs of Bastia Hill and Durie Hill east of a line following the Wanganui River and proceeding up Wairere Road, Mount View Road, and Bastia Avenue to the water tower.
WAITOTARA
Population: 33 542 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at the mean high water mark of the sea near Santoft and proceeding north-westerly along that water mark to the boundary of Taranaki Electoral District; thence easterly along that boundary and the southern boundary of King Country Electoral District to the boundary of Rangitikei County; thence southerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary to Whangaehu Ward, Rangitikei County to and along Mt. Curl Road and the western boundary of Porewa Ward to and along Smalls Road. Upper Tutaenui Road to the boundary of Marton Borough; thence easterly, southerly and westerly along that borough boundary and Pukepapa Road to No. 3 State Highway; thence north-westerly along that highway and south-westerly along Santoft Road amd Raumai Road and its extension to the mean high water mark of the sea, excluding the Wanganui Electoral District.
RANGITIKEI
Population: 33 045 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at the eastern corner of Rangitikei County and proceeding south-westerly along the boundaries of Rangitikei, Kiwitea, Pohangina, and Orua Counties to the northern boundary of Kairanga County; thence westerly and southerly along that county boundary to No. 56 State Highway; thence westerly along that highway and Himatangi Beach Road to the mean high water mark of the sea; thence northerly along that water mark and north-easterly along the boundaries of Waitotara, King Country, Taupo, and Wai-karemoana Electoral Districts to the Ngaruroro River.
PALMERSTON NORTH
Population: 32 772 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commencing at Fitzherbert Bridge and proceeding westerly, northerly, easterly, and southerly along the boundary of Palmerston North Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, to College Street; thence southerly along that street, Victoria Avenue, Te Awe Street and Fitzherbert Avenue to the Fitzherbert Bridge.
MANAWATU
Population: 33 449 Classification Partially Urban Partially Rural
Comprises the Kairanga County, the Shanon and Tokomaru Wards of Horowhenua County, and that portion of the City of Palmerston North not included in the Palmerston North Electoral District.
PAHIATUA
Population: 33 525 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Pahiatua Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, and proceeding south-westerly along the mean high water mark of the sea to the Whareama River; thence up that river and along the northern boundary of Uriti Ward, Masterton County to the Pahiatua Electoral District as previously described; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly along that boundary to the mean high water mark of the sea.
WAIRARAPA
Population: 33 427 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at the mouth of the Whareama River and proceeding south-westerly along the mean high water mark of the sea and northerly along the boundary of Wairarapa Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, to the boundary of Pahiatua Electoral District; thence easterly along that boundary to the Whareama River.
HOROWHENUA
Population: 33 453 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commencing at Himatangi Beach and proceeding south-easterly along the boundaries of Rangitikei and Manawatu Electoral Districts to the Tararua Range; thence south-westerly along the boundary of Horowhenua County to Waikanae; thence northerly along the mean high water mark of the sea to Himatangi Beach.
KAPITI
Population: 32 451 Classification Partially Urban and Partially Rural
Commencing at the mouth of the Waikanae River and proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of Kapiti Borough and southerly along the boundary of Kapiti Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, and westerly along the boundary of Hutt County to the south-western corner of that county; thence along a right line to the intersection of Aruha Crescent and Waihora Crescent, along Waihora Crescent, Corinna Street, and Warspite Avenue to the boundary of Kapiti Electoral District as previously described; thence northerly along that boundary and the mean high water mark of the sea to the Waikanae River, including Kapiti and Mana Islands.
PORIRUA
Population: 32 461 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises Tawa Borough and Porirua City except for that portion which has been included in Kapiti Electoral District.
HERETAUNGA
Population: 32 405 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises Heretaunga Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701.
WESTERN HUTT
Population: 31 277 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises the electoral district of Western Hutt, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, and that portion of the Eastern Hutt Electoral District to the west of a line bounded by High Street, Taita Drive, a line due west of Harcourt Werry Drive to the Western Road, along Western Hutt Road and a small tributary of the Hutt River north of Buchanan Road.
EASTERN HUTT
Population: 31 079 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises the Eastern Hutt Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, except for that portion to the west of High Street and Taita Drive which has been included in Western Hutt.
PENCARROW

OHARIU

Commencing at the intersection of the mean high water mark of the sea and the southern boundary of Porirua City and proceeding easterly and southerly along the boundary of Ohariu Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, to Ngauranga Gorge; thence north-westerly along No. 1 State Highway and through the quarry north of the Ngauranga Stream to the Wellington Johnsonville Railway; thence northerly, westerly, and southerly along the Ohariu Electoral District as previously described to the mean high water mark of the sea west at Owhiro Bay; thence westerly and northerly along that water mark of the boundary of Porirua City near Rock Point.
