Commencing at Oriental Bay and proceeding along Oriental Terrace to the boundary of Wellington Central Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701; thence southerly and westerly along that boundary to Norway Street, along that street, Thule Street, Raroa Road, Fairview Crescent, across to the Kelburn viaduct, to Chaytor Street and Waiapu Road; thence northerly and easterly along the boundary of Ohariu Electoral District and southerly along the mean high water mark of the sea at Port Nicholson to Oriental Bay, including Somes and Ward Islands.
ISLAND BAY
Population: 32 140 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commencing at the mean high water of the sea at Island Bay and proceeding westerly along that water mark and northerly along the boundary of Ohariu Electoral District to the boundary of Wellington Central Electoral District; thence easterly along that boundary and southerly along the boundary of Island Bay Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, to Island Bay.
MIRAMAR
Population: 32 535 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Comprises the Miramar Electoral District, N.Z. Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, excluding that portion of the district to north of Oriental Terrace.

Comprises the Counties of Amuri, Cheviot, Hurunui, Oxford, and Eyre, the District of Rangiora and the Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora.
PAPANUI
Population: 32 855 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at the mouth of the Waimakariri River and follows the mean high water mark of the sea to Rothesay Road, along Rothesay Road and through the Burwood Plantation to Burwood Road, along Burwood Road, Prestons Road, Grimseys Road, Winters Road to the western boundary of the Papanui School, along the boundary and the boundary to the City of Christchurch to Grants Road, along Grants Road, Papanui Road, Blighs Road, Wairakei Road, Ilam Road, Russley Road, Harewood Road, McArthurs Road, and its extension to the Rangiora electoral boundary; thence easterly along that boundary to the mouth of the Waimakariri River.
SAINT ALBANS
Population: 32 430 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at Rothesay Road and follows the eastern boundary of the Burwood Plantation to Mairehau Road; thence southerly along that road, Frosts Road, Travis Road, Barkers Road and its extension to the Avon River; thence up that river and along the north-western boundary of the Avondale Golf Course to Breeze Road, along that road and again up the Avon River to McBratneys Road, along that road, River Road, Medway Street, Randall Parade, Averill Street, Stapletons Road, Guild Street, Hills Road, Edgeware Road, Abberley Crescent, St Albans Street, and Papanui Road to the Papanui electoral boundary; thence easterly along that boundary to Rothesay Road.
FENDALTON
Population: 32 395 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at Papanui Road and follows that road to Bealey Avenue, thence westerly, southerly and westerly around Hagley Park to Lincoln Road, along Lincoln Road, the northern boundary of Spredyon School and up the Heathcote River to the Christchurch City boundary, along that boundary, Wigram Road, Annex Road, Blenheim Road, Hansons Lane, Riccarton Road, Yaldhurst Road,
and Brodie Street to the Christchurch Teachers College; thence easterly along the southern boundary of that college to Waimairi Road, along that road and Grahams Road to the Papanui electoral boundary, thence easterly along that boundary to Papanui Road.
CHRISTCHURCH CENTRAL
Population: 33 059 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at Kerrs Reach near McBratneys Road and follows south along that Reach and Kerrs Road, Buckleys Road, Butterfield Avenue, the western boundary of Bromley Cemetery, Linwood Avenue, Hargood Street to Ferry Road; thence westerly along that road, and Moorhouse Avenue to the Fendalton electoral boundary; thence northerly along that boundary and easterly along the St. Albans electoral boundary to Kerrs Reach.
AVON
Population: 32 782 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at Rothesay Road and follows the mean high water mark of the sea to Cave Rock; thence north-westerly along the shore of the estuary following the causeway, Main Road, Humphreys Drive, and Linwood Avenue to the Christchurch Central electoral boundary; thence northerly and easterly along the electoral boundaries of Christchurch Central, St. Albans, and Papanui to Rothesay Road.
SYDENHAM
Population: 33 864 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commencing at Ferry Road and Ensors Road and follows south-westerly along Ensors Road, Heathcote River, and the Cashmere Stream to the Christchurch City boundary near Waipara Street; thence north-westerly along that boundary to Sparks Road, along Sparks Road, Hendersons Road, and again along the Christchurch City boundary to the Fendalton electoral boundary; then north-easterly along that boundary and Christchurch Central electoral boundary to Ensors Road.
YALDHURST
Population: 32 705 Classification Urban or Predominantly Urban
Commences at Yaldhurst Road and Main South Road and follows south-westerly along Main South Road, Springs Road, Dufek Crescent, across open ground to Awaroa Road, along that road and Wilmers Road to the existing boundary of Yaldhurst Electorate, New Zealand Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701; thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along that boundary to Main South Road.
LYTTELTON
Population: 33 094 Classification Partially Urban and Partially Rural
Comprises the existing electoral district, New Zealand Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, except for that portion between Hargood Street and St. Johns Street which has been added from Christchurch Central Electorate.
SELWYN
Population: 32 427 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Comprises the existing electoral district, New Zealand Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, except for a portion at Warren Park which has now been included in Yaldhurst Electorate.
ASHBURTON
Population: 33 146 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commences at the mouth of the Opihi river and follows up that river to Cloudy Peaks; thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along the existing electoral boundary, New Zealand Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701, to the Opihi river.
TIMARU
Population: 33 779 Classification Partially Urban and Partially Rural
Commences at the mouth of Pareora River and follows up that river and the Tengawai River to Manahuh; thence northerly along the Albury Range to the Opihi River; thence down that river and along the mean high water mark of the sea to the Pareora River.
WAITAKI
Population: 32 247 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Boundaries are in accordance with those published in New Zealand Gazette, 20 June 1977, page 1701.
OTAGO
Population: 32 123 Classification Rural or Predominantly Rural
Commences at Black Jacks Point within the Otago Harbour and follows Ravensbourne Road and Butts Road to the southern boundary of Logan Park High School; thence north-easterly along
