(b) In addition to the members specified in subclause (a) of this notice, the board may, from time to time, as it sees fit, co-opt not more than four additional members.

  1. (a) Subject to the provisions of this clause an appointed member shall hold office for a period of 3 years, but may, from time to time, be reappointed.
    (b) If any member dies or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from 3 consecutive meetings of the board, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
    (c) Unless he sooner vacates his office, every appointed member of the board shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.
    (d) Any co-opted member shall hold office at the pleasure of the board, or for a period not exceeding one year, but may, if eligible, be reappointed.

  2. The powers of the board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof:
    (a) A deputy member may be appointed, in the same manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that member and act in the event of the absence of the member from any meeting or meetings of the board.
    (b) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (a) of this clause, he shall be deemed to be a full member of the board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so.

  3. The Local Government Training Board Notice 1977* is hereby revoked.

The Traffic (Temuka Borough and Strathallan County) Notice No. 1, 1982

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Temuka Borough and Strathallan County) Notice No. 1, 1982.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The Traffic (Temuka Borough and Geraldine County) Notice No. 1, 1974, dated the 18th day of February 1974†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Temuka Borough:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 50 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from Evans Street to the northern boundary of Temuka Borough.

Domain Avenue: from a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along Domain Avenue from Murray Street to the eastern boundary of Temuka Borough.

North Town Belt: from a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along North Town Belt from Guild Road to Murray Street.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Situated within Temuka Borough:

Approval of Motorcycle Riding School

Pursuant to regulation 19D (5) of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby approves the motorcycle riding school listed in the Schedule hereto to the effect that it may issue certificates of riding instruction to enable a person to obtain a full licence to drive a motorcycle in accordance with regulation 19D of the said regulations:

The notice dated the 28th day of March 1977 is hereby revoked.

Approval of Driver Improvement Course

Pursuant to section 68 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, I, George Frederick Gair hereby approve of the traffic improvement course of instruction offered by Mr C. G. Walbran of the Eezyway Driving School, Blenheim, and conducted in Blenheim by the Eezyway Driving School.
