The Taumarunui Borough Council Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1963, Amendment No. 4

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby amends the Taumarunui Borough Council Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1963*, as amended by the amendments specified in the Schedule thereto, by amending the Second Schedule thereto as follows:

1. By adding to clause 2 thereof the following subclause:

“(iii) A line for the distribution of electricity to properties owned by the licensee at the date hereof leading from the licensee’s generating station at Piriaka and proceeding in a southerly direction for approximately 543 metres with the following lines branching off:

(a) At 181 metres and proceeding in a south-easterly direction for approximately 130 metres;

(b) At 241 metres and proceeding in an easterly direction for approximately 20 metres;

(c) At 482 metres and proceeding in a south-easterly direction for approximately 50 metres;

the said lines being situated in Sections 7 and 41, Block II, Hunua Survey District; Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 9422 and part State Highway 4 and being more particularly shown by means of green lines on the plan marked NZE 965 deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington”.

2. By deleting from clause 3 thereof the words:

“the said plan NZED 598” and substituting the words “a plan marked NZE 966 deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington which amends the said plan NZED 598 in so far as that plan shows the route of the line described herein”.

3. By deleting clause 4 and substituting the following:

“(4) Lines for the supply of electricity to:

(a) Street lights along State Highway 4;

(b) A joinery factory situated in section NZE 3GIA;

(c) A jet boat terminal and information centre situated in section NZE 3.

The said lines being more particularly shown by means of green lines on the plan marked NZE 1025 deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington and being within all that area bounded by a line commencing on the left bank of the Ongarue River and proceeding due west along a right line passing through the Te Peka Trig to a point on the eastern boundary of Lot 33, D.P. 11833; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said boundary to the northernmost point of the said boundary; thence due north to the left bank of the Ongarue River and thence generally south-easterly along that bank to the point of commencement. As the said area is more particularly shown edged in yellow on the plan marked NZE 1025 deposited as aforesaid”.

4. By deleting from clause 5 thereof the words “plan marked NZED 940, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington” and substituting the words “plan marked NZE 966 deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington”.

Assignment of a Consent to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby assigns to Colin Allen Nimmo and Christina Anne Nimmo a consent dated the 2nd day of August 1973 authorising Bluff Station Ltd. to use water for the purpose of generating electricity (New Zealand Gazette, 16 August 1973, page 1579) and substitutes paragraph 6 of the Conditions with the following:

“For the purpose of assessing a rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant is 6 kW.”

State Forest Land Set Apart As Recreation Area—Berwick Recreation Area—Southland Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 63A of the Forests Act 1949 (as substituted by section 19 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976) the Minister of Forests hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a recreation area for the purpose of public recreation.

471 hectares, more or less, being parts of Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 1 of 25, 2 of 25, 2 of 26, 2 of 27, 2 of 28, Sections 1 of 26, 1 of 27, 1 of 28, 29, 36, part 32, part 1, D.P. 7210, and parts of closed roads, Block VII, Clarendon Survey District.

Parts of Sections 31, 62 and parts of closed road, Block IX, Clarendon Survey District and parts of closed road, Block XV, Maungatua Survey District, as shown marked “A” on plan 172/89 held by the New Zealand Forest Service at Invercargill.
