ALL that section of No. 1 State Highway as described in the Second Schedule to the varying notice published in the Gazette, 12 September 1974, No. 89, p. 1930.

All those sections of No. 1 State Highway in Christchurch and Riccarton as described in Part II of the notice declaring public highways to be State highways published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, No. 20, p. 384.

All that section of No. 74 State Highway as described in the Second Schedule to the varying notice published in the Gazette, 29 March 1979, No. 25, p. 991.

All those sections of No. 75 State Highway in Christchurch and Riccarton as described in Part II of the notice declaring public highways to be State highways published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, No. 20, p. 384.

PART I—GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS

SOUTH ISLAND:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)

Recommencing at Picton and proceeding thence to Bluff via Spring Creek, Blenheim, Weld Pass, Dashwood Pass, Seddon, Ward, Tirohanga, Kekerengu, Clarence Bridge, Kaikoura, Oaro, Parnassus, Cheviot, Dommett, Motunau, Waipara, Amberley, Waikuku, Woodend, Pinehaven the Christchurch Northern Motorway, Belfast, Papanui, Christchurch, Sockburn, Hornby, Islington, Templeton, Rolleston, Burnham, Dunsandel, Rakaia, Chertsey, Ashburton, Tinwald, Hinds, Ealing, Rangitata, Orari, Winchester, Tamuka, Washdyke, Timaru, Pareora, St Andrews, Otaio, Makikihi, Studholme Junction, Glenavy, Waitaki River Bridge, Oamaru, Maheno, Herbert, Hampden, Palmerston, Waikouaiti, Waitati, Dunedin Northern Motorway, Dunedin, Green Island, Dunedin-Milton Motorway, Allanton, Waikouaiti, Milton, Balclutha, Clinton, Waipahi, Gore, Charlton, Mataura, Edendale, Woodlands, Kennington and Invercargill.

No. 73 State Highway (Christchurch-Kumara)

Commencing at No. 1 State Highway at the junction of Curlets Road and Blenheim Road and thence along Curlets Road to Kumara via Yaldhurst Road, West Melton, Aylesbury, Kirwee, Darfield, Waddington, Sheffield, Springfield, Porters Pass, Cass, Bealey, Arthur’s Pass, Otira, Jacksons, Wainihinihi, Dillmanstown, Kumara, to Kumara Junction.

No. 74 State Highway (Christchurch-Lyttelton)

Commencing at No. 1 State Highway at the junction of Barbadoes Street and Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch, and proceeding via Moorhouse Avenue, Ferry Road, Heathcote River Bridge and the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel to the junction of Cashin Quay back road and Gladstone Pier Road.

No. 75 State Highway (Christchurch-Akaroa)

Commencing at No. 1 State Highway at the junction of Curlets Road and the Christchurch Southern Arterial Road and proceeding along Curlets Road to Akaroa via Halswell Road, Tai Tapu, Motukarara, Kaituna, Birdlings Flat, Little River, Hill Top, Barrys Bay, Duvauchelle, Robinsons Bay and Takamatua.

PART II—DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS IN TOWNS

CHRISTCHURCH:

No. 1 State Highway

From the northern boundary of Christchurch City south of the intersection of Main North Road and Godley Avenue, along Main North Road to the intersection of Cranford Street, along Cranford Street to the intersection of Edgeware Road and Sherbourne Street, along Sherbourne Street to Bealey Avenue, along Bealey Avenue to the intersection of Barbadoes Street, from Bealey Avenue to Moorhouse Avenue via the Madras and Barbadoes Street one-way pair, from the intersection of Barbadoes Street and Moorhouse Avenue via Moorhouse Avenue, Waltham Road, Brougham Street and Jcrroll Street to the Christchurch Southern Arterial Road at Barrington Street and thence via the Christchurch Southern Arterial Road to the western boundary of Christchurch City.

No. 74 State Highway

From the junction of No. 1 State Highway (Barbadoes Street) and Moorhouse Avenue, along Moorhouse Avenue, Ferry Road and the Tunnel Road rotary to the Heathcote River Bridge and then via Tunnel Road, Port Hills Road Interchange and the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel to the tunnel portal at the Lyttelton end.

No. 75 State Highway

That portion of Curlets Road within the City of Christchurch and Halswell Road from its intersection with Curlets Road to the south-western boundary of Christchurch City.

Maori Land Development Notice

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Board hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Whangarei 1981, No. 17.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
