Inclusion of Areas of Lake, Harbour, and Territorial Sea in the Region of the West Coast United Council

PURSUANT to section 19 (2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977, the Minister of Works and Development hereby declares that for the purpose of regional planning, the lakes, harbours, and territorial seas within the area described in the Schedule hereto are hereby included in the region of the West Coast United Council, a body constituted pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974, by Order in Council, dated 27 November 1978, and published in New Zealand Gazette, 30 November 1978, No. 104, p. 3272.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of lake, harbour, and territorial sea within a line commencing on the mean high water mark on the sea coast at Kahurangi Point in Block II, Kahurangi Survey District, and then proceeding along a right line to its intersection with the outer limits of the territorial sea (as shown on sea chart N.Z. 25); thence generally, south-westerly, along the outer limits of the territorial sea to a point at the intersection of a right line from the mean high water mark on the sea coast at the northern point of the mouth of the Awarua River, in Block IX, Gorge River Survey District; thence proceeding along that line to the Awarua River; thence in a generally south-easterly direction along the southern boundary of the Westland County to Mount Aspiring; thence in a generally north-easterly direction along the boundaries of the Westland, Grey, and Inangahua counties to its intersection with the Waimca County boundary; thence in a generally north-westerly and north-easterly direction along the boundaries of the Inangahua and Buller counties to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to section 19 (2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977, the Minister of Works and Development hereby declares that for the purpose of regional planning, the lakes, harbours, and territorial seas within the area described in the Schedule hereto are hereby included in the region of the Southland United Council, a body constituted pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974, by Order in Council, dated 14 May 1979, and published in New Zealand Gazette, 17 May 1979, No. 42, p. 1530.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of lake, harbour, and territorial sea within a line commencing on the mean high water mark at Tommy Point on the Fiordland sea coast at the northern entrance to Bligh Sound, and then proceeding along a right line to its intersection with the outer limits of the territorial sea (as shown on sea chart N.Z. 25); thence generally, south-westerly, along the outer limits of the territorial sea around the south-western corner of the South Island encompassing the Stewart Island County to a point at the intersection of a right line proceeding from the midpoint of the mouth of Longbeach Creek; thence generally, north-westerly, along that line to and along Longbeach Creek following the boundary of the Southland County to where it intersects with the boundary of the Wallace County at Hummock Peak (Trig 1); thence in a generally northerly and north-westerly direction along the boundary of the Wallace County to the mean high water mark of Bligh Sound; thence generally, north-westerly, along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement.
