The Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947—Transfer of Records of Abolished Courts

WHEREAS, in pursuance of a direction of His Excellency the Governor-General, the sittings of the Magistrates’ Courts listed in the First Schedule are to be discontinued, as from the 13th day of October 1979, and in the Second Schedule from the 31st day of October 1979.

Now therefore, pursuant to the provisions of subsection (1) of section 70 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947, I do direct that the records of the courts in the First Schedule be delivered on the 14th day of October 1979, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable to the Registrars of the Magistrates’ Courts, at the places named in the second column of the Schedule opposite the name of each such court where sittings are to be discontinued.

And I further direct that the records of the courts in the Second Schedule be delivered, on the 1st day of November 1979, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, to the Registrars of the Magistrates’ Courts, at the places named in the second column of the Schedule opposite the name of each such court where sittings are to be discontinued.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Taranaki Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Taranaki Licensing Committee, on 14 September 1979, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Albion Hotel, Patea.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday and Saturday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 10 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On any Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(d) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day.
