Appointment of the Waikato County Council to Control and
Manage a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from
the Minister of Lands, the Assistant Director of National
Parks and Reserves of the Department of Lands and Survey
hereby appoints the Waikato County Council to control and
manage the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, subject
to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for local
purpose (quarry).

Environmental Impact Report Notified—Oil Refinery
Expansion, Marsden Point

THE Commission for the Environment has received an
Environmental Impact Report on a proposal by the N.Z.
Refining Co. Ltd. to expand the existing oil refinery at
Marsden Point, Whangarei, for the purpose of increasing
annual throughput and enabling the refinery to use a wider
range of imported crude oils and indigenous condensate as
feedstock.

Representations on writing on the environmental aspects of
the proposal and on the report are invited and should be sent
to the Commission for the Environment, P.O. Box 11244,
Wellington, before 6th October 1979.

The Environmental Impact Report is in two volumes
(Volume 1: Report, and Volume 2: Technical Appendices).
Copies may be purchased from the manager, N.Z. Refining
Co. Ltd., P.O. Box 44, Whangarei, at a cost of $10 per
volume or $20 for a set of two volumes. Copies may also be
seen at the Whangarei Public Library, at the Bream Bay
College Library, as well as at the libraries of the four main
centres and the seven university institutions.
