Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for Certain Vehicles
PURSUANT to subclause (8) of regulation 67 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of one revolving or flashing yellow or amber light to local authority Civil Defence vehicles. This approval is given subject to the following conditions:
-
The vehicle shall be painted a conspicuous colour, and clearly marked “CIVIL DEFENCE”.
-
The light shall only be used while the vehicle, by its position on the roadway, is creating a traffic hazard.
-
The light shall only be used for civil defence purposes, and while the vehicle is stationary or moving slowly along the road in the performance of its duties.
-
Unless traffic is under the control of a police officer or traffic officer, adequate warning signs shall be erected as soon as practicable in advance of any hazard indicated by flashing or revolving yellow or amber lights.

Declaration of Vehicle with Motor Cycle Controls to be a Motor Cycle
PURSUANT to section 2 of the Transport Act 1962, the Secretary for Transport hereby declares that the vehicle described in the Schedule hereto, having motor cycle controls, is a motor cycle for the purposes of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
The three-wheeled vehicle with motor cycle controls and a Volkswagen engine bearing the No. 2789807, which was manufactured in 1979 by Mr Tim Munroe of Helensville.
