The Traffic (Wallace County) Notice No. 1, 1979

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Wallace County) Notice No. 1, 1979.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The Traffic (Wallace County) Notice No. 4, 1971, dated the 8th day of December 1971†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Wallace County at Te Anau, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Wallace County at Te Anau:

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Te Anau-Manapouri Road 500 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said roadside from No. 94 State Highway (Gore-Milford Sound); thence north-easterly, generally, along the said roadside to its intersection with the south-eastern side of the said State highway; thence north-easterly, generally, along the south-eastern side of the said State highway to a point 70 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said roadside from Te Anau-Manapouri Road; thence by a right line at right angles to the said roadside to the north-western side of the said State highway; thence north-easterly, generally, along the said roadside across Bligh Street to the north-eastern side of Bligh Street; thence northerly, generally, to the eastern end of Caswell Street; thence westerly and northerly, generally, along the northern and eastern sides of Caswell Street to the southern side of No. 94 State Highway (Gore-Milford Sound); thence easterly, generally, along that side of the said State highway to a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, from Caswell Street; thence by a right line at right angles to the said roadside to the northern side of the said State highway; thence by a right line in a north-west direction to the eastern shore of Lake Te Anau; thence southerly and westerly, generally, along the shores of Lake Te Anau to a point north of the commencing point; thence south by a right line across Te Anau-Manapouri Road to the commencing point.

The Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1979

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1979.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

  4. The Traffic (Southland County) Notice No. 1, 1976, dated the 30th day of August 1976†, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Southland County at Edendale, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Southland County at Edendale:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 300 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Ferry Road to a point 480 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Bath Lane.

Edendale-Seaward Downs Road: from Ferry Road to a point 100 metres measured southerly, generally, along Edendale-Seaward Downs Road from Turner Street.

Ferry Road: from No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from Manse Street.

Turner Street: from Edendale-Seaward Downs Road to a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along Turner Street from Manse Street.

SITUATED within Southland County at Edendale:

Edendale-Seaward Downs Road: from a point 100 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from Turner Street to a point 50 metres measured southerly, generally, along Edendale-Seaward Downs Road from Sweeney Street.

Ferry Road: from a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from Manse Street to a point 600 metres measured easterly, generally, along Ferry Road from Manse Street.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by the Taupo Borough Council by the Use of Water

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy consents to the generation of electricity by the Taupo Borough Council subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934, to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generation or storing electricity, shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity, as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant to this consent, shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined continue in force until the 30th day of November 1998.

  5. This consent is granted subject to prior compliance with the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967.

  6. This consent shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1979.

  7. The stations shall be operated to supply the normal electricity demand of the Taupo Borough Council and to conform reasonably to the pattern of the supply authority's daily load curve.

  8. For the purpose of assessing in accordance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the scheme shall be assessed at 6600 kW.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

  1. Hinemaiaia H.A. Scheme—(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake giving a static head of approximately 32 metres situated at a point in Tauhara South B Block and Pahikohuru No. 6 Block, Block II, Waitahanui Survey District.
