Wanganui Boys College Senior Technical Division Notice 1978

PURSUANT to section 96A of the Education Act 1964 (as inserted by section 4 of the Education Amendment Act 1977), the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Wanganui Boys College Senior Technical Division Notice 1978.

2. The Wanganui Boys College Board of Governors (in this notice referred to as "the Board") is hereby authorised to offer classes or courses in the technical subjects specified in the Schedule to this notice, at Wanganui Boys College, to persons who are not enrolled as students at that school.

3. (1) The following persons shall be added to the management committee established by the Board pursuant to section 96A (2) of the Education Act 1964:

(a) One person to be appointed by the Board on the nomination of the Federated Farmers of New Zealand Inc., Wanganui Branch;

(b) The Principal of the Wanganui Boys College;

(c) The Head of Department of the Wanganui Boys College Senior Technical Division;

(d) Up to seven persons to be co-opted by the Board itself if and when it thinks fit, of whom one shall represent the interests of the Maori people in Wanganui and one of whom shall be a woman.

(2) The members appointed pursuant to paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) of subclause (1) of this clause, shall serve as members of the management committee for a term of 2 years and shall be eligible to be reappointed from time to time.

(3) The members (if any) co-opted by the Board itself pursuant to paragraph (d) of subclause (1) of this clause, shall serve as members of the management committee for such terms as the Board thinks fit.

(4) If a member appointed pursuant to paragraph (a), (b), or (c) of subclause (1) of this clause, becomes for any reason unable to remain a member of the management committee, the Board shall fill the vacancy thereby created by appointing a person who is in its opinion, suitable for that vacancy; and the person so appointed shall serve as a member of the management committee for the residue of the term for which the vacating member was appointed.

SCHEDULE

The technical subjects referred to in clause 2 of this notice shall be the following:

Subjects towards a New Zealand Certificate awarded by the Technicians Certification Authority of New Zealand.

Subjects towards a Technical Certificate in Garage Management awarded by the Technicians Certification Authority of New Zealand.

Subjects towards a Hospital Officers Certificate.

Subjects towards a Trade Certificate or Advanced Trade Certificate awarded by the New Zealand Trades Certification Board.

Typing and Shorthand.

Subjects towards Certificates in Industrial Practice in the following:

Boilerhouse Practice,
Civil Engineering Works Supervision,
Concrete Construction,
Concrete Supervision,
Farm Management,
Food Hygiene, and
Food Service.

Subjects in Senior Business or Secretarial Courses.

Subjects in the New Zealand Society of Accountants examination.

Subjects towards the New Zealand Institute of Management, the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand courses.

Ceramics.

Consent of Minister of Customs to Importation of Sugar under Customs Import Prohibition (Sugar) Order 1978

PURSUANT to clause 2 of the Customs Import Prohibition (Sugar) Order 1978*, the Minister of Customs hereby consents to the importation of sugar in any of its recognised commercial forms derived from sugar cane or sugar beet, including edible and fancy molasses, syrups and any other form of liquid sugar used for human consumption, when such sugar is—

Shipped to New Zealand prior to 1 April 1979, provided that such sugar is imported into New Zealand by 12 May 1979.

This consent shall take effect on the first day of January 1979.

The Traffic (Thames-Coromandel District) Notice No. 3, 1978

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Thames-Coromandel District) Notice No. 3, 1978.

2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 20th day of December each year and ending with the 18th day of February in the next ensuing year, and the period commencing with the Thursday preceding Easter and ending with the Tuesday following Easter, shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres-an-hour fixed by the said section.

4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70 kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

5. The roads specified in the Fourth Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit area for the purpose of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 19th day of February and ending on the Wednesday preceding Easter, and from the Tuesday following Easter to the 20th of December in each year, shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 70 kilometres-an-hour fixed by the said regulation.
