Approval of Warning Lights and Siren for Fire Appliances

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves for the purposes of regulation 67 (1), and regulation 69 (3), of the said regulations, lighting and siren equipment as described in the Schedule hereto when fitted to the motor vehicle, owned by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd., Waitoa, which is equipped or attendance at fires, for use while on urgent fire service.

SCHEDULE

(a) One or more flashing or revolving red lights;

(b) One siren of an approved type.

Exemption of Certain Motor Vehicles from the Height Restrictions for Front Direction Indicators and Forward-Facing Side Lamps

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts motor vehicles of the type specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of subclause 3 (a) of regulation 59 and subclause 2 (a) of regulation 63 of the said regulations, in respect of the maximum height of 1.5 metres that the forward-facing side lamp and front direction-indicator may be mounted above the ground.

SCHEDULE

Any Nissan model CW 41 series commercial vehicle, whenever first registered.

The Water Recreation (Mount Maunganui) Notice 1979โ€”Whitewater Adventure Tours Limited

PURSUANT to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979*, I, Robin Paul Taylor, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of the powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Mount Maunganui) Notice 1979.

(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette and shall remain in force until the 1st day of April 1980.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, pursuant to Regulation 18 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979, the area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall be reserved for paraflying or parasailing activities.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL the waters within 200 metres of the waters edge from a point being 50 metres south east of the extension of the southern side of Banks Avenue to a point at the waters edge 50 metres south east of Banks Avenue.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is in, on, or using the water, or fishing or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.

  2. All persons in charge of a vessel or wing parasailing or paraflying shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all other acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  3. The reserved area shall be marked as follows:

(a) Two 2.5 metre transit posts, with a distance of not less than 3 metres or more than 6 metres between, and painted black and orange vertical strips, shall be erected on land in line with each side of the reserved area, the first post being sited at high water mark.

(b) On each side of the transit post sited on high water mark there shall be a notice board, measuring not less than 800 millimetres by 600 millimetres, painted bright orange with black lettering advising the purpose of the reservation and warning bathers and swimmers to keep out.

The Water Recreation (Lake Rotoiti, Nelson) Notice 1979โ€”Nelson Lakes National Park Board

PURSUANT to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979*, I, Robin Paul Taylor, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of the powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Lake Rotoiti, Nelson) Notice 1979.

(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulation 7 (1) (a) and (b), 7 (2), 8 (1) (a) and (b), and 8 (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979 shall not apply to the area of water described in the First Schedule hereto.

  2. Notice is hereby given that the Motor Launch (Lake Rotoiti, Nelson) Notice 1971 is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area of water in Kerr Bay, Lake Rotoiti, situated in Block XIII, Motupiko Survey District within the Nelson Lakes National Park and as more particularly shown labelled ski access lane on plan M.D. 15983 (S.O. 12616).

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is in, on, or using the water, or fishing or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.

  2. All persons in charge of the vessel or when waterskiing shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all other acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  3. The access lane shall be marked as follows:

(a) Two 2.5 metre transit posts, with a distance of not less than 3 metres or more than 6 metres between, and painted with 300 millimetre bright orange and black bands, shall be erected on land in line with each side of the access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin at normal lake level.

(b) On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake margin at normal lake level there shall be fastened in line with the signs of the access lane a notice board measuring not less than 800 millimetres by 600 millimetres painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:

"NOTICE

WATER RECREATION REGULATIONS 1979

Access lane through which small craft and water skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 knots.
