Approval of Sale of Land by the Taranaki Harbours Board to the Taranaki County Council

IN THE MATTER of the Land Transfer Act 1952, and IN THE MATTER of a certain Memorandum of Transfer, bearing date the 10th day of March 1978, from THE TARANAKI HARBOURS BOARD to THE CHAIRMAN, COUNCILLORS AND CITIZENS OF THE COUNTY OF TARANAKI affecting ALL THAT piece of land situated in the Land Registration District of Taranaki, containing 16.7500 hectares, more or less, being Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 12490, being part Section 157, Hua District, being formerly part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume A2/323 (Taranaki Registry) but being now the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, (Taranaki Registry).

I, COLIN CAMPBELL ALEXANDER McLACHLAN, of Wellington, Minister of Transport, IN PURSUANCE of the power vested in me by sections 143a and 143c of the Harbours Act 1950, AND with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance DO HEREBY SPECIFICALLY APPROVE the sale intended to be effected by the above recited memorandum of transfer, SUBJECT to the following conditions:

(1) THAT the Taranaki Harbours Board deal with the money received by the board from the sale of the above-described land in the manner specified in section 4 of the Taranaki Harbours Board Empowering Act 1976.

(2) THAT contemporaneously with the execution of the above recited memorandum of transfer the Chairman, Councillors, and Citizens of the County of Taranaki shall transfer the above-described land to Her Majesty the Queen as a public reserve for recreation purposes pursuant to the provisions of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953.

AND I SPECIFY that my approval hereunder shall take effect from the 10th day of March 1978.
