Declaration that Land Shall be a Walkway

PURSUANT to the New Zealand Walkways Act 1975, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be a walkway, and shall hereafter be known as the Coromandel Walkway.

COMMENCING at a point at the end of a Public Road adjoining Section 26, Block II, Colville Survey District, shown marked A, and thence proceeding generally southwards over the said Section 26 and over Sections 28, 30, 18, 29, 8, 35, and 9, Block II, Colville Survey District, to finish at a point on the side of a public road in Block II, Moehau Survey District, adjoining Section 29, Block II, Colville Survey District, shown marked B, as the same is more particularly delineated on survey office plan 49561.

The Secondary School Grants Notice (No. 1) 1978

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974, and a determination jointly made by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Secondary School Grants Notice (No. 1) 1978.

  2. For the period 1 April 1978 to 31 March 1979, the basis of calculating the amount of grants made for general administration to the governing body of any school in accordance with the provisions of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974 shall be as follows:

(a) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (a) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the number of pupils enrolled in each school under the control of the governing body shall be calculated as follows:

Number of Pupils for each School Governing Body Yearly Rate of Payment per Pupil
For the first 300 pupils $45.70
For the next 300 pupils $19.35
For all pupils in excess of 600 $18.10

(b) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (b) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the weekly teaching half-days spent in instructing and supervising technical and continuation day and evening classes shall be calculated as follows:

(i) For schools other than those listed in the Schedule:
Number of Weekly Teacher Half-days for each School under the Governing body Yearly Rate of Payment for each Weekly Teaching Half-day
For all classes that are vocational $59.45
For all classes that are non-vocational $56.65

(ii) For those listed in the Schedule, $1.10 per hour.

(c) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (c) of regulation 4 of the said regulations at the rate of $3.70 for every pupil, who, on the first day of March in the year of the grant is enrolled for the purpose of attending any approved class for manual instruction, which shall be expended on the provision of materials for, and the incidental expenses of, all such classes.

(d) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 7 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of library assistants employed at the school under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale:

(e) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 8 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of persons employed as clerical assistants, laboratory assistants or nursing aides in each school under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale, for a period of 40 weeks provided that the maximum number of hours to which a school is entitled in any year may be spread over a longer period than 40 weeks:
