National Roads Board—Notice Partially Revoking Declaration of State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

REFERRING to State Highway 60, Motueka to Hop Research Station section, as more particularly shown on sheets 1 to 4 of Plan L.A. 54/58/1 and accompanying schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Nelson, and there available for public inspection; It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 15 February 1978, and pursuant to subsection (5) of Section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby revokes its resolution of 16 July 1975*, made pursuant to the said Section 4, insofar as it affects that part of the limited access road declaration of the said State Highway for one half its width on the eastern side commencing at the junction point of the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 1961 (CT 67/48) and the road boundary and extending northwards across the frontage of the said Lot 1.

National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 15 February 1978, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of State Highway 60, Motueka to Hop Research Station section, for half its width on the western side commencing at the junction point of the southern boundary of Lot 10, D.P. 9661 and the highway boundary and extending 140 metres in a northerly direction, as more particularly shown on Plan L.A. 54/58/7 and accompanying schedule, held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Nelson, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 15 February 1978, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of State Highway 8, Washdyke to Pleasant Point section, for a width of 10 metres on the southern side commencing 72 metres from the south east boundary of Lot 2 D.P. 36660 (C.T. 16A/269) and extending 10 metres in a north west direction along the highway boundary, as more particularly shown on Plan L.A. 64/90/1 and accompanying schedule, held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Timaru, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Pork Industry Council—Election of Producers Representative, Ward No. 2 (all areas of the Waikato and King Country south to Pio Pio and Turangi, Taupo, Bay of Plenty, East Coast and Gisborne)—Roll of Eligible Electors

Notice is given that a copy of the roll of pig producers eligible to vote in the forthcoming election for one producer member to represent Ward No. 2 on the Pork Industry Council will be available for inspection of the following places:

(1) Head Office, Pork Industry Council, Level 14, Pastoral House, Wellington.

(2) Head Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Wellington.

(3) Mr J. H. Taylor, Advisory Officer, care of Pig Research Unit, Ruakura.

The rolls will be available for inspection from 1 March to 30 April 1978.

Notice is given that a copy of the roll of pig producers eligible to vote in the forthcoming election for one producer member to represent Ward No. 3 on the Pork Industry Council will be available for inspection at the following places:

(1) Head Office, Pork Industry Council, Level 14, Pastoral House, Wellington.

(2) Head Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Wellington.

(3) District Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, New Plymouth.

Notice of Trading Bank Reserve Asset Requirements

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as from the close of business on 1st March 1978, and until further notice each trading bank shall maintain during each calendar month balances at the Reserve Bank plus holdings of Reserve Bank notes and of New Zealand Government securities, such that the aggregate of the averages of those balances and holdings during that calendar month (determined in accordance with clauses 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this notice) equals or exceeds the aggregate of:

35 percent of that trading bank’s average demand deposit liabilities in New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar month (determined in accordance with the provisions of clause 5 of this notice); plus

12.5 percent of that trading bank’s average time deposit liabilities in New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar month (determined in accordance with the provisions of clause 5 of this notice);

Provided that a trading bank may make up its balances and holdings as aforesaid for a calendar month to the amount hereinbefore required for that calendar month by way of borrowings from the Reserve Bank made during that calendar month or during the first ten business days of the next following calendar month and on terms and conditions to be determined by the Reserve Bank, and the proceeds of all such borrowings shall be credited to the account of that trading bank with the Reserve Bank.

For the purposes of this notice:

(1) Balances held by a trading bank at the Reserve Bank shall (subject to clause 6 of this notice) include both demand deposit balances and time deposit balances of that trading bank.

(2) The average of a trading bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes for a calendar month shall be the average of the figures shown in all weekly returns of Banking Statistics by that trading bank under the Statistics Act 1975 received during that calendar month.

(3) The average of a trading bank’s balances at the Reserve Bank and holdings of New Zealand Government securities for a calendar month shall in each case be the average of the figures for balances and such securities held by that trading bank on each day during that calendar month.

(4) Government securities held by a trading bank shall consist of Government stock and Treasury bills (all at nominal value) held by that trading bank and shall include advance subscriptions for stock lodged by that trading bank with the Reserve Bank.

(5) The average demand deposit liabilities and the average time deposit liabilities of a trading bank in a calendar month shall in each case be the average of the figures for days within that calendar month, as shown in that trading bank’s weekly returns of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1975.

(6) The proceeds of any borrowings made by a trading bank pursuant to the proviso to this notice shall:

(a) in the case of a borrowing made during a calendar month to make up balances and holdings
