Canada goose (only in the Waiau Watershed upstream from the junction of the Waiau and the Orawia Rivers, the whole of the Oreti Watershed upstream from the Centre Bush Bridge and the Aparima Watershed upstream from the Wreys Bush Bridge. Also in that portion of the society's district north of a straight line extending from the Lumsden road-rail bridge to East Dome on the society's eastern boundary)

Special Conditions

  1. In the Southland Acclimatisation District not more than four persons shall at any time hunt or kill or attempt to hunt or kill game over the same set of artificial decoys.

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. except that during the period 19 June 1978 to 29 October 1978 inclusive, and midnight 2 February 1979 to 25 March 1979 at midnight inclusive, Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day.

Decoy limit: No limit.

Special Conditions

  1. No person shall, for the purposes of hunting or killing game, build, or attempt to build, any stand, hide, shelter, maimai, mud-hold, loo, louvre, or position before 9 a.m. on 18 March 1978.

Pursuant to section 17 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs approves persons to hunt or kill game of the species listed in the First Schedule hereto, during an open season for game in the acclimatisation districts named in the Second Schedule hereto, where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted during the 1978–79 open season for
