SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, pursuant to sections 23, 35 and 36 of the Counties Act 1956, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto in this respect enabling, the Mount Herbert County Council hereby resolves, pursuant to section 87 (a) as follows:

PORT VICTORIA RIDING OF MOUNT HERBERT COUNTY

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Mount Herbert County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the summit of the Port Hills in line with the north-eastern boundary of Maori Reserve 875 (Rapaki), Block IV, Halswell Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the mean high-water mark of Lyttelton Harbour; thence south-easterly by a right line to the intersection of that mean high water mark and the middle of Church Gully in Church Bay; thence south-westerly along the mean high-water mark of Lyttelton Harbour to a point due north of the middle of Gebbies Pass Road; thence due south to that middle line and south-westerly along it to its intersection with a line aligned between Trig Station L1, Block XI, Halswell Survey District, and Mount Bradley, Block XII, Halswell Survey District; thence westerly along that line and its production to the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 10264, Block XI, Halswell Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Lot 1 of that D.P. and its production to the summit of the Port Hills; thence north-easterly generally along that summit to the point of commencement.


PORT LEVY RIDING OF MOUNT HERBERT COUNTY

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Mount Herbert County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high water mark of the sea at the head of Big Bay, Block III, Pigeon Bay Survey District, in line with the western side of a road passing through Rural Sections 27872, 33229, 24754, 24762, and 24762; and proceeding southerly to and along that roadside to the northern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 8086; thence westerly and southerly generally along the northern and generally western boundaries of that lot, and

the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the south-western side of Port Levy–Pigeon Bay Road; thence south-easterly along that roadside to the western side of a road passing through Rural Sections 33233, 28291, 33405, 24203, 33405 again, and 32152; thence southerly along that roadside and its production to the middle of Summit Road; thence north-westerly generally along the middle of that road and Herbert Peak Road to the production of a right line passing through Mount Herbert to Mount Bradley; thence south-westerly to and along that line to Mount Bradley, Block XII, Halswell Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line aligned on Trig Station L1, Block XI, Halswell Survey District, to the middle of Gebbies Pass Road, Block XI, Halswell Survey District; thence north-easterly along that middle line to a point in line with the southern side of Teddington–Purau Road; thence due north to the mean high-water mark of Lyttelton Harbour, at the Head of the Bay; thence north-easterly generally along that mean high-water mark to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rural Section 243E, Block IV, Halswell Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary and the eastern side of Hunters Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 2111; thence westerly to the northernmost corner of that lot and south-easterly along its north-eastern boundary to the northern side of Bay View Road; thence easterly generally along that roadside to the southern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 14050; thence easterly along that boundary and its production to the mean high-water mark of Lyttelton Harbour; thence easterly generally along that mean high-water mark and the mean high-water mark of the sea to the point of commencement.

SPECIAL ORDER ALTERING RIDING BOUNDARIES

PURSUANT to sections 35 and 36 of the Counties Act 1956, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order to amend riding boundaries and the representation in those newly constituted ridings as follows:

  1. That ten ridings be re-constituted to be known as:
    Waharoa Riding.
    Matamata Riding.
    Lake Karapiro Riding.
    Tirau Riding.
    Hinuera Riding.
    Te Poi Riding.
    Okoroire Riding.
    Putaruru Riding.
    Maungaiti Riding.
    Lichfield Riding.

  2. That each riding shall have one elected representative with the exception of Maungaiti riding which shall have two representatives.

  3. That the number of elected representatives be eleven.

  4. That the boundaries of the new ridings be those as defined on plan submitted to council.

  5. That Peria riding be discontinued and its territory transferred to the new Waharoa and Hinuera ridings.
