Number of Weekly Teaching Half-days for each School Under the Governing Body

(c) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (c) of regulation 4 of the said regulations at the rate of $2 for every pupil who, on the first day of March in the year of the grant is enrolled for the purpose of attending any approved class for manual instruction, which grant shall be expanded on the provision of materials for, and the incidental expenses of, all such classes.

(d) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 7 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of library assistants employed at schools under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale:

(e) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 8 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of persons employed as clerical assistants, laboratory assistants or nursing aides in each school under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale, for a period of 40 weeks, provided that the maximum number of hours to which a school is entitled in any year may be spread over a longer period than 40 weeks:

The Secondary School Grants Notice (No. 2) 1977

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974, and a determination jointly made by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Secondary School Grants Notice (No. 2) 1977.

  2. For the period 1 February 1976 to 31 March 1977, the basis of calculating the amount of grants made for general administration to the governing body of any school in accordance with the provisions of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974 shall be as follows:

(a) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (a) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the number of pupils enrolled in each school under the control of the governing body shall be calculated as follows:

Number of Pupils for each School Governing Body
For the first 300 pupils
For the next 300 pupils

Yearly Rate of Payment per Pupil

(b) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (b) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the weekly teaching half-days spent in instructing and supervising technical and continuation day and evening classes shall be calculated as follows:

(c) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (c) of regulation 4 of the said regulations at the rate of $2.20 for every pupil who, on the first day of March in the year of the grant is enrolled for the purpose of attending any approved class for manual instruction, which grant shall be expanded on the provision of materials for, and the incidental expenses of, all such classes.

(d) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 7 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of library assistants employed at schools under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale:
