The Traffic (Paeroa Borough) Notice No. 1, 1977

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Paeroa Borough) Notice No. 1, 1977.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

  4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

  5. The Traffic (Paeroa Borough) Notice No. 1, 1974, dated the 1st day of October 1974†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulations 27 and 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Paeroa Borough, is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Paeroa Borough:

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne): from the north-western boundary of Paeroa Borough to Brenan Street, and from the south-eastern boundary of Paeroa Borough to a point 400 metres measured south-easterly generally along the said highway from Russell Street.

No. 26 State Highway (Hamilton-Kopu): from the northern boundary of Paeroa Borough to Claremont Avenue.

Taylors Avenue: from No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to a point 80 metres measured southerly generally along the said avenue from Bush Street.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Paeroa Borough:

Taylors Avenue: from No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to a point 80 metres measured southerly generally along the said avenue from Bush Street.

THIRD SCHEDULE

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Gerald Colin Urquhart at Cass by the Use of Water

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Gerald Colin Urquhart, of Cass, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions:

CONDITIONS

  1. The condition directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934, it were a licence, under the Public Works Act 1928, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent, under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant to this consent, shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1992.

  5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  6. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 10.8 kilowatts.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

(a) Headworks, consisting of an intake and pipeline leading to the powerhouse, giving a static head of approximately 176.784 metres.

(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in section RS 33807, Block IX, Grasmere Survey District.

(c) Tail-race leading from the powerhouse to Lake Pearson.

As shown on the plan marked NZED 942, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department, at Wellington.

Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand: Designation of Administrative Local Authority for Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, I hereby designate the Balclutha Borough Council to be the administrative local authority in respect of the South Otago Community Arts Council.

Indecent Publications Act 1963

THE following delegation made by the Attorney-General is published for general information.

IN the matter of the Indecent Publications Act 1963:

PURSUANT to section 29 (2) of the Indecent Publications Act 1963 the Attorney-General hereby delegates his powers to give leave to commence prosecutions, for offences against the said Indecent Publications Act 1963, to the Commissioner of Police in the following cases:

  1. Any alleged offence in respect of any book or sound recording already classified by the Indecent Publications Tribunal or by the Supreme Court on appeal from the Tribunal.

  2. Any alleged offence in respect of photographs, photographic negatives, photographic plates, and photographic slides.

  3. Any alleged offences in respect of photographic films.

  4. Any alleged offences in respect of books, booklets, pamphlets, periodicals, magazines, broadsheets or single pages which in substance are pictures, or collections, or series of pictures.
