Textile Industry Training Board Notice 1977
PURSUANT to section 15A of the Vocational Training Council Act 1968, the Minister of Education gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Textile Industry Training Board Notice 1977.

(1) There shall continue to be an industrial training board for the textile industry which shall be known as the Textile Industry Training Board and shall comprise the following members:
(a) One member appointed by the Apparel Industry Training Board;
(b) One member appointed by the New Zealand Carpet Manufacturers Association;
(c) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Knitting Industries Federation;
(d) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Textile and Woollen Mills Association;
(e) One member appointed by the New Zealand Federated Woollen Mills, Carpet, and Hosiery Factories Employees Industrial Association of Workers;
(f) One member appointed by the Textile Institute, New Zealand Section;
(g) One member appointed by the Society of Dyers and Colourists of Australia and New Zealand, New Zealand Sections;
(h) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Council;
(i) One member appointed by the Director-General of Education;
(j) One member appointed by the Secretary of Labour; and
(k) One member appointed by the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand (Inc.).
(2) In addition to the members specified in subclause 1 of this clause, the board may co-opt not more than 3 additional members.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this clause the appointed members of the board shall hold office for a period of 1 calendar year, but may, from time to time, be reappointed.
(2) Any co-opted member shall hold office, during the pleasure of the board, for a period not exceeding 1 calendar year, but may be reappointed.
(3) If any member dies or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the board for 3 consecutive meetings, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
(4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed member of the board shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.
(5) The powers of the board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof. -
(1) A deputy member may be appointed in the same manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that member and act in the event of the absence of that member from any meeting of the board.
(2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause 1 of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of the board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so. -
This notice revokes the Textile Industry Training Board Notice 1974*, and the Textile Industry Training Board Amendment to List of Board Members†.

Variation of the Hawke’s Bay Technical Institute Notice 1973
PURSUANT to paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection (2) of section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby makes the following variation to the Hawke’s Bay Technical Institute Notice 1973*, (hereinafter referred to as “the said notice”); this notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette:

For the purposes of this notice the term “institution” shall be defined as that institution constituted by the said notice and known as the Hawke’s Bay Community College.

Subclauses (1) and (2) of clause 4 of the said notice are hereby varied by extending the term of office of all those members previously appointed or elected, until the 31st day of October 1977.

Clause 2 of the said notice is hereby varied by adding the following new paragraphs:
(i) One member who shall be the principal of the institution; and
(j) One member who shall represent the staff of the institution and who shall be elected by the full-time teachers employed by the council, and who shall himself be a full-time teacher employed by the council, and who shall be elected to office as soon as practicable after the date of the publication of this notice.
(k) (i) One member who shall represent the students of the institution and who shall himself be a student of the institution and who shall be elected to office as soon as practicable after the date of the publication of this notice.
(ii) For the purposes of subparagraph (i) of paragraph (k) of this clause a “student of the institution” shall be defined as “any student enrolled in a course of study at the institution at the time of the calling of nominations for the election of the student representative”.

Prescribing the Building Research Rate of Levy
PURSUANT to section 4 of the Building Research Levy Act 1969, the Minister of Science and Technology hereby gives notice that, with effect from the 1st day of April 1978, the rate of levy to be paid by builders for the purposes of the Act shall be that prescribed in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
RATE OF LEVY
ONE dollar per $1,000 (or part thereof) for all contracts or construction work valued at or in excess of $3,000.

The Traffic (Matamata County) Notice No. 2, 1977
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Matamata County) Notice No. 2, 1977.
-
The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.
-
The Traffic Notice, dated the 20th day of October 1964†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Matamata County at Te Poi, is hereby revoked.
SITUATED within Matamata County at Te Poi:
No. 29 State Highway (Tauranga-Piarere): from a point 80 metres measured easterly generally along the said State highway from Stopford Road to a point 120 metres measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Te Poi Road.
