The Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1977

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1977.
  2. The roads, specified in the First Schedule hereto, are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The roads, specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.
  4. The roads, specified in the Third Schedule hereto, are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 1st day of December in each year and ending with the Tuesday following Easter each year shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres-an-hour fixed by the said section.
  5. The roads, specified in the Third Schedule hereto, are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976* except during that period when clause 4 of this notice applies.
  6. So much of the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1975, dated the 28th day of January 1975†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Rodney County at Snells Beach and Algies Bay is hereby revoked.
  7. So much of the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1975, dated the 28th day of January 1975‡, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulations 27 and 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relate to No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff), situated within Rodney County at Orewa, is hereby revoked.

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 60 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Beach Road to a point 40 metres measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Florence Avenue.

At Huapai:
Station Road: from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to a point 480 metres measured southerly generally along the said road from the said highway.
Trigg Road: from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to a point 480 metres measured southerly generally along the said road from the said highway.

At Waimauku:
No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford): from a point 150 metres measured easterly generally along the said State highway from Waimauku Station Road to a point 650 metres measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Waimauku Station Road.

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rodney County:

At Orewa:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 100 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Moffats Road to a point 60 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Beach Road; and from a point 40 metres measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Florence Avenue to a point 200 metres measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from Puriri Street.

At Snells Beach:
Mahurangi East Road: from Snells Beach Road to Rangimaarie Crescent.
