NOTES

  1. This amendment comes into effect upon first publication in a newspaper circulating in the infected area constituted. Its purpose is to extend the previously declared “infected area”.

  2. It is an offence to remove plants or Christmas tree material (branches, etc.) out of the “infected area”, if these are of exotic pine, Douglas fir, Sitka spruce or larch species and have not been treated as specified by an authorised forest officer.

  3. The “infected area” is now generally the whole of the North Island, excluding the Kaitaia Borough and the Mangonui and Great Barrier Counties. In the South Island the “infected area” is all that land in Nelson and Marlborough Sounds to the west of the Wairau River and the Westland Land District north of the Makawhio River.

Movement within the “infected area” is authorised, with the exception that exotic pine, Douglas fir, Sitka spruce and larch material may not be moved from the areas listed in paragraph 2 (c) of the declaration (which is generally the large area lying between Auckland City and Wellington City, and the area east of the main ranges north of Takapau) into other parts of the “infected area”.

  1. Inquiries should be addressed to the nearest Conservator of Forests.

The said amendment was published on 13, 14, and 15 April 1976, in the following newspapers:
