Bylaw Regulating Fishing from Bridges on State Highways

PURSUANT to the National Roads Act 1953, the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Counties Act 1956, and all other powers and authorities in any way enabling it in that behalf, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw.

BYLAW

  1. This bylaw may be cited as the National Roads Board Bylaw 1976, No. 4.

  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

  3. The National Roads Board may, from time to time, by resolution prohibit all persons from fishing, from any bridge or any part thereof, on any State highway, and may direct that signs shall be erected accordingly.

  4. Where, in terms of clause 3 of this bylaw, all persons have been prohibited from fishing from any bridge or any part thereof on any State highway, any person who fishes contrary to the terms of such prohibition commits an offence against this bylaw.

This bylaw was made by resolution, duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board, held in Wellington on the 20th day of July 1976.

Bylaw Regulating Heavy Traffic Loadings on the Waiaru River Bridge on No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, and the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board makes the following bylaw.

BYLAW

  1. This bylaw may be cited as the National Roads Board Bylaw 1976, No. 5.

  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

  3. In this bylaw the term “heavy motor vehicle” shall have the meaning assigned to it in the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974.

  4. No person shall drive, or take, or operate, or permit to be driven, or taken or operated on or over the bridge, described in the Schedule hereto, any heavy motor vehicle having any two axles spaced at less than 1.8 metres, if the combined load carried by such axles exceeds 8,500 kilogrammes.

  5. No person shall drive, or take, or operate, or permit to be driven, or taken or operated on or over the bridge, described in the Schedule hereto, any heavy motor vehicle having any oscillating axle or axles.

  6. Every person who commits an offence against this bylaw is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding $200 for each such offence.

  7. National Roads Board Bylaw 1976, No. 3*, is revoked.


SCHEDULE

The Waiaru River Bridge on No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) 1.73 kilometres south of the road to the Parnassus Post Office.

This bylaw was made by resolution passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board, held in Wellington, on the 20th day of July 1976.
