Abolition of the Whirinaki Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 28th day of
July 1975
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby abolishes
the Rural Fire District described in the Schedule hereto and
revokes the order constituting this district, made and published
as set out in the said Schedule.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY—WHIRI-
NAKI RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
ALL that area declared to be a Rural Fire District
known as the “Whirinaki Rural Fire District” by order dated
the 30th day of June 1948, published in the Gazette, on
1 July 1948, No. 38, page 814.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Forests and Rural Fires Act 1955, His
Excellency the Governor-General acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.
ORDER
-
This order may be cited as the Kaingaroa Rural Fire
District Order 1948, Amendment No. 6, and shall be read
together with and deemed part of the Kaingaroa Rural
Fire District Order 1948* (hereinafter referred to as the
principal order). -
The principal order may hereafter be cited as the Kaingaroa Rural Fire District Order 1948.

The principal order is hereby amended by omitting the
Schedule thereto, and substituting the Schedule set out herein. -
The Order in Council amending the Constitution of the
Kaingaroa Rural Fire District published in the Gazette, of
1962, page 428, is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY—
TAupo, ROTORUA, WHAKATANE, AND WAIRoa COUNTIES
Kaingaroa Rural Fire District
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo,
Rotorua, Whakatane, and Wairoa Counties, containing
536,500 acres, more or less, commencing at a point being
the westernmost corner of Matahina Dl in Block XII, Ruawahia Survey District, and proceeding generally northerly
along the western boundary of Matahina Dl to its intersection with a line parallel to and 10 chains distant from
the northern boundary of that block; thence easterly along
that line and its production to and along a line parallel
to and 10 chains distant from the northern boundary of
Matahina AlC to the left bank of the Rangitaiki River
in Block XIV, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence
generally southerly along that left bank to the southern
boundary of the Borough of Murupara as described in
Gazette, 1970, page 197; thence generally south-easterly along
the southern boundary of that borough and the southern
side of State Highway No. 38 to a point in line with the
southern side of Troutbeck Road; thence generally easterly
to and along the southern side of that road to the left bank
of the Whirinaki River in Block XIII, Galatea Survey
District; thence generally southerly along that left bank to
a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 1,
Block II, Ahikereru Survey District; thence easterly and
southerly to and along the northern and eastern boundaries
of Section 1 aforesaid, Section 5, Block VI, Ahikereru Survey
District, and Section 1, Block XI, Ahikereru Survey District,
and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
southern side of State Highway No. 38; thence generally
easterly along the southern side of that State highway to
the eastern boundary of part Urewera A in Block XI, Ahi-
kereru Survey District; thence generally southerly along the
eastern boundary of Urewera A (Permanent State Forest,
New Zealand Gazette, 1944, page 627) to the north-eastern
boundary of Heruiwi 4D in Block X, Tuwatawata Survey
District; thence generally westerly along a right line to
Trigonometrical Station No. 5 in Block XI, Heruiwi Survey
District; thence generally westerly and southerly along the
generally north-eastern and western boundaries of Section 1,
Block XI, Heruiwi Survey District, along a right line across
a public road, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 14,
D.P. 21390, to the right bank of the Waipunga River in
Block XIV, Heruiwi Survey District; thence generally westerly
along that right bank to the south-western boundary of Lot 20,
D.P. 23615 in Block XIV, Heruiwi Survey District; thence
north-westerly to and along that boundary and its production
to the left bank of the Otamatea River; thence generally
north-easterly along that bank and the left bank of the Rangi-
taiki River to the northern boundary of Run 60 in Block I,
Heruiwi Survey District; thence generally westerly and south-
erly along the northern and western boundaries of Run 60
aforesaid to the southernmost corner of part Lot 3, D.P.
S. 7273 in Block II, Otukotara Survey District; thence
generally northerly along the south-western boundary of part
Lot 3 aforesaid, and the right bank of the Paetataramea
Stream to the right bank of the Waikato River; thence
generally northerly along that right bank to its intersection
with the left bank of the Waiotapu Stream in Block I,
Takapau Survey District; thence generally northerly along
that left bank to the southern boundary of Section 56S,
Reporoa Settlement in Block XIV, Paeroa Survey District;
thence easterly generally along that boundary to the western
side of Broadlands Road; thence along a right line to and
along the southern boundary of Section 57S, Reporoa Settlement, to and along the southern side of Longview Road,
to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 59S,
Reporoa Settlement in Block XV, Paeroa Survey District;
thence generally northerly to and along that boundary, the
eastern side of Longview Road, and the eastern side of
Campbells Road to a point in line with the southern boundary
of Section 110S, Reporoa Settlement in Block XI, Paeroa
Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the
left bank of the Waiotapu Stream in Block XI, Paeroa Survey
District; thence generally northerly along that left bank to
its intersection with the southern side of Campbells Road
in Block VI, Paeroa Survey District; thence due north along
a right line to the northern side of Campbells Road; thence
generally westerly along that roadside to its intersection with
State Highway No. 5; thence northerly along a right line
to Trigonometrical Station No. 30, Maungaongaonga in
Block II, Paeroa Survey District; thence generally north-
easterly along a right line to a point on the western boundary
of Part Rotomahana, Parekarangi 6P2B in Block XV, Tara-
wera Survey District, due west of the westernmost corner
of Section 5, Block XIII, Ruawahia Survey District; thence
due east to the westernmost corner of Section 5 aforesaid;
thence generally easterly along the southern boundaries of
