Exempting Land in the Nelson Land District From the
Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I,
Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New
Zealand, do hereby exempt the leases described in the
Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said
Act.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT-BULLER COUNTY
SECTION 134, Town of Millerton: area, 607 square metres,
more or less. S.O. Plan 5456L.
Section 180, Town of Millerton: area, 989 square metres,
more or less. S.O. Plan 5456L.
Sections 34, 70, 71, Town of Denniston: areas, 34, 258
square metres, more or less, 70, 632 square metres, more or
less, and 71, 556 square metres, more or less. Total area,
1446 square metres. S.O. Plan 3524L.
Reserving nevertheless unto the Crown firstly in terms of
section 168A of the Coal Mines Act 1925, all coal existing
in its natural condition on or under the surface of the said
land, and secondly, in terms of section 8 of the Mining Act
1971, every mineral existing in its natural condition on or
under the surface of the said land.

Captain F. H. Bland, O.B.E., C.ENG., F.I.MECH.E., F.I.MAR.E.,
M.N.Z.I.E., to be Acting Commodore with effect from 23 June
1975 and Commodore with seniority and effect from 30 June
1975.
Instructor Commander James Cyril Lancaster Davies, B.A.,
DIP.ED., is placed on the Retired List with effect from 7 June
1975.
Commander (Acting Captain) A. D. Nelson, R.ENG.,
M.N.Z.I.E., to be Captain with seniority and effect from 30
June 1975.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander V. W. Fifield
is extended to 24 January 1978.
Lieutenant Commander B. J. Mahoney, M.B.E., to be temp.
Commander with effect from 22 May 1975.
