THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
of Reserve Bank notes and of New Zealand Government
securities together equal to an amount which shall not be
less than the aggregate of:
29 percent of that bank's average demand deposit liabilities
in New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar
month as shown by an average of the weekly returns
of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, plus
11 percent of that bank's average time deposit liabilities in
New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar
month as shown by an average of the weekly returns
of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955.
For the purposes of this notice:
(1) The monthly average of a trading bank's holdings of
Reserve Bank notes shall be the average of the figures as
shown by the weekly returns of Banking Statistics under
the Statistics Act 1955 for that bank received in the calendar
month to which the requirement applies.
(2) The monthly average of a trading bank's balances at
the Reserve Bank and holdings of New Zealand Government
securities shall be the average of all daily figures for that
bank in the calendar month to which the requirement applies.
(3) Government securities shall consist of Government stock
and Treasury bills (all at nominal value) including advance
subscriptions for stock lodged by a trading bank with the
Reserve Bank.
(4) Balances at the Reserve Bank shall include both demand
deposit balances and time deposit balances.

Ashburton Pest Destruction Board—Number of Members to
be Elected to Each Ward (No. 1190 Ag. 6/13/26A)
PURSUANT to section 33 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction
Act 1967, the Ashburton Pest Destruction Board hereby fixes
the number of members to be elected for each ward of its
district to be that specified opposite the name of each ward
in the Schedule hereto.

Division of Ashburton Pest Destruction District into Wards

PURSUANT to section 21 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction
Act 1967, the Ashburton Pest Destruction Board hereby gives
notice that the Ashburton Pest Destruction District which
was constituted by Order in Council on the 18th day of
November 1974* is hereby divided into wards, the names
and boundaries of which are specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
ASHBURTON WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ellesmere
and Ashburton Counties, and Borough of Ashburton, containing
306 950 hectares (758,500 acres), more or less, bounded
by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water
mark of the sea in line with the north-eastern boundary
of Rural Section 23552 in Block IV, Coldstream Survey
District, and proceeding north-westerly to and along that
boundary to its northernmost corner; thence north-westerly
along a right line to a point on the north-western boundary
of Rural Section 23628 in line with the middle of that portion
of Hinds Rangitata Mouth Road passing through Lot 1,
D.P. 5124; thence north-easterly to and along the middle
of that road to its intersection with Terrace Road; thence
north-westerly along the middle of Hinds Rangitata Mouth
Road, Ealing Coldstream Road, Withells Road, Hinds Arundel
Road, and No. 72 State Highway (Woodend-Winchester) and
its production to the middle of the Rangitata River; thence
north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to a
point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Run 107
“Tenahaun”, Block I, Shepherds Bush Survey District; thence
north-easterly generally to and along that boundary to the
middle of Hinds Gorge Road; thence south-easterly along
the middle of that road to the middle of Upper Downs
Road; thence north-easterly generally along the middle of
that road, Quarry Road, Brothers Road, and No. 72 State
Highway (Woodend-Winchester) to the middle of the north
branch of the Ashburton River; thence north-westerly up
the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle
of a road passing through Reserve 1116, Block I, Spaxton
Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along the middle
of that road and its production to the middle of Pudding
Hill Stream; thence north-westerly up the middle of that
stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary
of Reserve 2713, Block I, Spaxton Survey District; thence
north-easterly to and along that boundary to the middle
of Pudding Hill Road; thence south-easterly along the middle
of that road to the middle of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 23527; thence north-easterly
along the middle of that road to the middle of McLennans
Bush Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that
road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of
Lot 5, D.P. 23526; thence north-easterly generally to and
along that boundary, the south-eastern boundary of Lot 6,
D.P. 23526, the generally south-eastern boundary of Lot 7,
D.P. 23526, and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 20
and 19, D.P. 23526, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence northerly generally along the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 5200 and the generally eastern
boundary of Run 277, “Mt. Hutt”, to the south-western corner
of Rural Section 33501; thence easterly along the southern
boundary of that Rural Section and its production to the
middle of Blackford Road; thence south-easterly along the
middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Rural Section 36983; thence north-easterly to
and along that boundary and its production to the middle
of the Rakaia River; thence south-easterly generally down
the middle of that river and the main stream of that river
between Great Island and Paradise, Tent, and Burnt Islands
to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence south-westerly
along that mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.
GORGE WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton
County, containing 191 780 hectares (473,900 acres), more
or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the
middle of the Rangitata River in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Run 107 “Tenahaun”, Block I, Shepherds Bush
Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly generally
up the middle of that river and the Havelock River to and
along the south-western side of the Havelock Glacier to a
point due south of Sceptre Peak on the summit of the Main
Divide in Block I, Torlesse Survey District; thence due north
to that peak; thence north-easterly generally along that
summit to Whitcombe Pass, Block II, Ramsay Survey District;
thence southerly to and down the middle of Louper Stream
to its confluence with the Rakaia River; thence easterly down
the middle of that river to a point in line with the western
boundary of Run 117, “Upper Lake Heron”, Block V, Whitcombe
Survey District; thence south-easterly generally to and along
the generally south-western boundary of that run to the
western shore of Lake Heron; thence northerly and south-easterly
generally along the western and generally north-eastern
shores of that lake to the south-western boundary of Run
117 aforesaid; thence south-easterly along that boundary
to the southernmost corner of Run 334, “Double Hill”; thence
north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that run
to the summit of Taylor Range; thence southerly along the
summit of that range to Mount Taylor; thence easterly to
and down the middle of Boundary Creek to its confluence with
the north branch of the Ashburton River; thence south-easterly
down the middle of that river to the middle of No. 72 State
Highway (Woodend-Winchester), being a point on the north-western
boundary of Ashburton Ward hereinbefore described; thence
south-westerly generally along that boundary to the point
of commencement.
WHITCOMBE WARD
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton
County, containing 88 980 hectares (219,875 acres), more
or less, commencing at a point in the middle of the Rakaia
River in line with the western boundary of Run 117, “Upper
Lake Heron”, Block V, Whitcombe Survey District, and proceeding
south-easterly generally down the middle of that river to
a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Rural
Section 36983, Block VI, Hutt Survey District, being a point
on the north-western boundary of the Ashburton
