The Traffic (Matamata County) Notice No. 1, 1975

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Matamata County) Notice No. 1, 1975.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The notice under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 17th day of March 1950*, which relates to roads situated within Matamata County at Waharoa, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Matamata County at Waharoa:

No. 27 State Highway (Mangaturata-Tirau): from Walker Street to a point 250 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from McGowan Street.
Cadman Street.
Casey Street.
Duncan Street: from No. 27 State Highway (Mangaturata-Tirau) to Mills Street.
Factory Road: from Casey Street to a point 200 metres measured northerly generally along Factory Road from Landsdowne Road.
Hawes Street.
McGowan Street.
Jones Street.
Mills Street.
Pitt Street.
Walker Street.
Ward Street.

The Traffic (Manukau City-Mangere and Otara Wards) Notice No. 1, 1975

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Manukau City- Mangere and Otara Wards) Notice No. 1, 1975.

  2. All the roads in the Mangere and Otara Wards of Manukau City, with the exception of those roads contained in the areas specified in the First Schedule hereto and those roads specified in the said First Schedule, are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. So much of the Traffic (Manukau City) Notice No. 1, 1974, dated the 27th day of May 1974† under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to roads situated within Manukau City in the Mangere and Otara Wards is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED Within Manukau City in the Mangere and Otara Wards

At Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Mangere East, and Favona:

All the area at Mangere, Mangere Bridge, Mangere East, and Favona bounded by a line commencing at the point where the south-western boundary of Otahuhu Borough meets the north-western boundary of Papatoetoe City; thence south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary of Papatoetoe City and along the south-western side of Portage Road to a point opposite the south-western side of Henwood Road where it meets Portage Road; thence across Portage Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-westerly generally by a right line across the southern end of Richard Avenue to the south-eastern side of Pukaki Road; thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern side of Pukaki Road to the southern side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt Road); thence westerly generally by a right line across Pukaki Road to a point on the south-eastern side of Westney Road, 520 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said roadside from the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt Road); thence across Westney Road at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence due west by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of George Bolt Memorial Drive; thence north-easterly generally along the said side of George Bolt Memorial Drive to the south-western side of the No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt Road); thence across the said State highway at right angles from its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence northerly generally along the said roadside to the southern side of Valiant Street; thence across the said State highway at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the eastern side of Kirkbride Road; thence north-westerly generally along the said roadside, across Mountain Road, to the eastern side of Wallace Road; thence northerly generally along the eastern side of Wallace Road to the southern side of Pikitea Road; thence across Wallace Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence westerly generally by a right line across the southern end of Wellesley Road to a point on the bank of the oxidation pond; thence northerly and westerly generally along the bank of the oxidation pond and northerly and easterly generally along the shore of the Manukau Harbour to a point opposite the end of Miro Road; thence due east by a right line to the western boundary of Otahuhu Borough; thence southerly generally along that boundary to the commencing point.

No. 20 State Highway (Onehunga-Redoubt Road): All that section now formed by the Mangere Bridge.

At Otara:

All that area at Otara, with the exception of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff), Auckland-Hamilton Motor-way, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the northern boundary of Papatoetoe City joins the bank of the Otaki Creek; thence north-easterly and easterly generally along the banks of the Otaki Creek, the Tamaki River, and the Otara Creek and the northern boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. 13917, to the western side of Springs Road; thence south-westerly generally along that roadside and the western side of East Tamaki Road to a point 80 metres measured northerly generally along the said roadside from Prestons Road; thence across East Tamaki Road at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence southerly generally along the eastern side of East Tamaki Road to Prestons Road; thence southerly generally along the eastern side of Prestons Road to the northern side of Ormiston Road; thence along the said northern side of Ormiston Road to a point 300 metres measured easterly generally along the said roadside from Prestons Road; thence across Ormiston Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Flat Bush School Road, 80 metres measured south-easterly generally along the said road from Wynton Place; thence across Flat Bush School Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence southerly
