Notice Declaring Lands to be Infected Areas Under Potato Cyst Nematode Regulations 1974 (No. 1120 Ag. 61422)

Pursuant to regulation 3(1) of the Potato Cyst Nematode Regulations 1974, notice is hereby given that the following lands are declared to be infected areas:

(a) The land on which potato cyst nematode has been found-

(i) An area of 12 acres and 34 perches, or thereabouts, situated north of and adjoining Prestons Road, Christchurch, in Block VII of the Christchurch Survey District, being Lot 3 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office as No. 2563, parts of Rural Sections 1604 and 1681, C.T. 316/75 (Canterbury Registry).

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds Under the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in the County of Strathallan (No. 1127 Ag. 20649A)

Pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act 1950, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following special order made by the Strathallan County Council on the 5th day of March 1975 is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Counties Act 1956 and the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and all other Acts (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Strathallan County Council hereby resolves by special order that the weeds described in the Schedule hereto be and are declared noxious weeds within the County of Strathallan.

Barley grass (Hordeum murinum)
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus)
Burdock (Arctium, any species)
Californian thistle (Cirsium arvense)
Cape tulip (Homeria collina)
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius)
Gorse (Ulex, any species)
Grecian thistle (Chamaepeuce afra)
Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea)
Milk thistle or Variegated thistle (Silybum marianum)
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma)
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans)
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea)
St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus)
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn Rosa rubiginosa)

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes)
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus).

National Roads Board-Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 23 April 1975, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui to Bluff) from the south end of the Whirokino Bridge to its junction with Waitarere Beach Road as more particularly shown on sheet 1 of plan LA 52/1/1 and accompanying schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Porirua, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

National Roads Board-Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 23 April 1975, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of the Kaitoke to Akatarawa section of No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington) fronting Lot 1, D.P. 34713, C.T. 13C/668, as more particularly shown on plan LA 51/18/54 and accompanying schedule held at the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Trentham, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Insurance Companies Deposits Act 1953-Proposed Release of Deposits

EDWARD Lumley Limited (formerly the Security and General Insurance Company Limited) has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on business in New Zealand in respect of the classes of insurance business designated as Classes 1 and 4 in the First Schedule to the abovementioned Act and that it proposes to withdraw the deposits which have been made by it with the Public Trustee pursuant to section 19 of the above-mentioned Act.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice pursuant to section 19(3) of the above-mentioned Act, that he proposes to release to the company on or after 4 June 1975, the amounts deposited with him by the company.

Any objections to the release of the amounts deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 21st day of May 1975.

Redefinition of the Wards of the Amuri Pest Destruction District (Notice No. 1125 Ag. 20891A)

Pursuant to section 22(c) of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, the Amuri Pest Destruction Board hereby gives notice as follows:

(i) The boundaries of the Wards of the Amuri Pest Destruction District are altered and redefined as set out in the Schedule hereto.

(ii) The notice entitled 'Division of Amuri Pest Destruction District into Wards' dated the 12th day of August 1974* is hereby revoked.

Pahau Ward

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Amuri County, containing 120 515 hectares (297,800 acres), more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Hurunui River in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 6080, in Block XV, Mytholm Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly to and along that boundary and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that lot to a point 100 metres (5 chains) short of the western-most corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6080; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 'Ben Cliberick', in Block XI, Mytholm Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to a point 5230 metres (3 miles and 20 chains) due east of the confluence of Lake Sumner and the Hurunui River in Block 1, Mytholm Survey District, thence due west to that confluence; thence north-westerly generally to and along the north-eastern shore of Lake Sumner to the middle of Marion Stream; thence north-easterly up the middle of that stream to and along the eastern shore of Lake Marion to its northernmost point; thence north-westerly generally along the generally north-eastern boundary of Reserve 4382 to Hope Pass on the summit of the Main Divide in Block X, Marion Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along that summit to the Lewis Pass; thence southerly down the middle of the Lewis River and the Boyle River and easterly and southerly down the middle of the Hope River and the
