the Main Divide to Sceptre Peak in Block I, Torlesse Survey
District; thence due south to the western side of the Havelock
Glacier; thence southerly and easterly generally along the
western and generally southern sides of that glacier to the
middle of the Havelock River; thence south-easterly generally
down the middle of that river and the Rangitata River to
a point in line with the middle of No. 72 State Highway
(Woodend-Winchester); thence south-easterly generally to and
along the middle of that highway, Hinds Arundel Road,
Withells Road, Ealing Coldstream Road, and Hinds Rangitata
Mouth Road to its intersection with Terrace Road in Block I,
Coldstream Survey District; thence south-westerly along the
middle of Hinds Rangitata Mouth Road and the production of the middle of that portion of it which passes through
Lot 1, D.P. 5124, to the north-western boundary of Rural
Section 23628; thence south-easterly along a right line to the
northernmost corner of Rural Section 23552; thence south-
easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that section
and its production to the mean high-water mark of the sea;
then ce south-westerly generally along that mean high-water
mark to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following Order.

ORDER

  1. This Order may be cited as the Southern Hawke's Bay Pest Destruction District Order 1975.

  2. The boundaries of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day of December 1973*, are hereby redefined and, as from the commencement of this Order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE SOUTHERN HAWKE'S BAY PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT

All that area in the Hawke's Bay and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point on the summit of the Ruahine Range in Block IX, Wakarara Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District, due west of the headwaters of Gold Creek and proceeding due east along a right line to the headwaters of Gold Creek; thence down the right bank of Gold Creek to, and down, the right bank of the Makaroro River to the Waipawa River; thence due south along a right line to, and down, the right bank of the Waipawa River to the Tukituki River; then ce due south along a right line to, and down, the right bank of the Tukituki River to, and up, the left bank of the Mangarara Stream to, and up, the left bank of the Boundary Stream to the northern boundary of Block 29, Mangakuri Crown Grant District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, and 24, Mangakuri Crown Grant District, to and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that Block 24 to the north-eastern boundary of Block 36, Mangakuri Crown Grant District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Blocks 36 and 37, Mangakuri Crown Grant District, to and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that Block 37 to the north-eastern boundary of Block 38, Mangakuri Crown Grant District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Blocks 38 and 39, Mangakuri Crown Grant District, to the north-western boundary of Block 40, Mangakuri Crown Grant District; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of that Block 40 to the sea coast; thence south-easterly along the sea coast to a point in the middle of the mouth of the Mataikona River in Block III, Castlepoint Survey District; thence up the middle of that river and the Pakowhai River to the northern boundary of Section 27, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District; thence westerly along the generally northern

boundaries of Sections 27, 28, 27, 29, 27, 9, 18, 9, 19, and 9,
Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, to the south-western
corner of Section 19, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District;
thence generally northerly along the western boundaries of
the said Section 19 and Section 221, Akitio District (including
right lines across intervening roads), the southern and western
boundaries of Section 16, Block XII, Puketoi Survey District
(including a right line across a road), the north-western
boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Puketoi Survey District,
and its production to the northern side of Waihoki Road
and along that side to and along the western boundary of
Section 4, Block V, Owahanga Survey District, to the north-
western corner of the said section 4; thence generally north-
westerly along the southern boundary of Section 28 and the
southern and western boundaries of Section 29, Block V,
Owahanga Survey District, the south-western boundary of
Section 7, Block VIII, Puketoi Survey District, and its production to the northern side of No. 52 State Highway, along that
side to and along the south-western boundary of Section 28,
Block IV, Puketoi Survey District, the generally southern
boundaries of Sections 29, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, Block IV,
Puketoi Survey District, along a right line to and along
the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 10, 9, and 23, Block
III, Puketoi Survey District, to the northernmost corner of
the said Section 23, and along the watershed by traverse
lines defined on S.O. Plan 13610 to Peg VIII on the summit
of the Puketoi Range; thence south-westerly along that summit
to Trig. Station Puketoi and along a right line to the north-
eastern corner of Section 61, Tiraumea District, in Block V,
Puketoi Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern
boundary of the said Section 61 and its production to and
along the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 18207, to and
along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 5274, to a point
in line with the southern boundary of Section 65, Tiraumea
District; thence westerly to and along that boundary and
its production to the middle of the Tiraumea River and
down the middle of that river to a point in line with the
northern boundary of Section 175, Rangitumau District, in
Block VIII, Mangaone Survey District; thence generally north-
westerly to and along that boundary and its production to
the middle of Pa Valley Road, along the middle of that
road to the middle of Mangaone Valley Road, along a right
line to and along the southern boundary of Section 16,
Block IV, Mangaone Survey District, and its production to
the middle of the Mangaone River, down the middle of
that river to a point on a right line bearing 123° 30' from a
point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 33, Block III,
Mangaone Survey District, distant 379.54 metres from the
southernmost corner of the said Section 33, along that line
to and along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries
of the said Section 33, the south-western boundary of Sec-
tion 4A, Block III, Mangaone Survey District, the north-
western boundary of Section 7, Block III, Mangaone Survey
District, the south-western boundary of Section 5, Block III,
Mangaone Survey District, and its production to and along
the south-western boundaries of Section 1A, Block III,
Mangaone Survey District, and Section 1, Block XIV,
Mangahao Survey District, and their production to a point
on the right bank of the Makakahi River, and along a right
line between that point and Trig. Station Arawaru to the
middle of the Mangahao River; thence up the middle of that
river to a point on a right line between Trig. Stations
Ngapuketurau and Arawaru; thence north-easterly along right
lines to Trig. Station Arawaru, to Trig. Station Marima
and to the north-western corner of Section 9, Block IX,
Mangahao Survey District, and along the abutment of a
road, the north-western boundaries of Section 4, Block V,
and Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block VI, Mangahao Survey District,
the south-western boundary of Section 13, Block XIX,
Mangahao Survey District, the eastern side of South Range
Road to the southern side of the Pahiataua-Aokautere Road,
along a right line to and along the eastern side of North
Range Road and the road forming the north-western bound-
aries of Sections 2 and 10, Block II, Mangahao Survey
District, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 3
of Section 26, Block II, Mangahao Survey District, the eastern
side of North Range Road to a point in line with the western
boundary of Section 1, Block I, Mangahao Survey District,
and to and along that boundary and its production to the
middle of the Manawatu River; thence up the middle of
that river to the boundary of the Wellington and Hawke’s
Bay Land Districts; thence north-easterly along that boundary
to Trig. Station 60A Whariti on the summit of the Ruahine
Range in Block XV, Woodville Survey District; thence north-
easterly along the summit of the Ruahine Range to the
point of commencement; excluding therefrom any borough
or town district in accordance with section 29 (1) of the
Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967.
