(3) The members of the Wellington Teachers College Council elected or appointed to hold office in accordance with this notice shall do so in the manner prescribed by sections 67E, F, G, and H of the Education Act 1964.

(4) The Wellington Teachers College Council Notice 1971* is hereby revoked.

Christchurch Teachers College Council Notice 1975

PURSUANT to regulation 67B of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Christchurch Teachers College Council Notice 1975.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. (1) There shall be a governing body for the Christchurch Teachers College which shall be known as the Christchurch Teachers College Council and shall comprise the following members:

(a) The Principal of the Christchurch Teachers College;

(b) Two officers of the Department of Education, to be nominated by the Director-General of Education;

(c) Two members of the Canterbury Education Board appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Canterbury Education Board;

(d) Three members appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Council of the University of Canterbury;

(e) Two members, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Southern Regional Branch of the New Zealand Secondary School Boards Association and who shall be members of that Association;

(f) One member, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute;

(g) One member, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Executive of the New Zealand Post-primary Teachers Association;

(h) One member, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the joint nomination of the Local Free Kindergarten Associations of Ward No. 7 of the New Zealand Free Kindergarten Union Incorporated;

(i) Two members, being members of the academic staff of the Christchurch Teachers Colleges, elected by the academic staff of those Colleges;

(j) Two members, being students of the Christchurch Teachers Colleges elected by the students of those colleges;

(k) Not more than two members to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Christchurch Teachers College Council, each being a person who in the opinion of that Council has special knowledge and experience of education or who has a special interest in cultural and educational activities.

(2) In addition to the members specified in subclause (1) of this clause, the Minister of Education may, if in his opinion there are other special circumstances, including circumstances relating to the internal management of the Christchurch Teachers College, appoint additional members to the Christchurch Teachers College Council.

(3) The members of the Christchurch Teachers College Council elected or appointed to hold office in accordance with this notice shall do so in the manner prescribed by sections 67E, F, G, and H of the Education Act 1964.

(4) The Christchurch Teachers College Council Notice 1969* is hereby revoked.

Dunedin Teachers College Council Notice 1975

PURSUANT to regulation 67B of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Dunedin Teachers College Council Notice 1975.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. (1) There shall be a governing body for the Dunedin Teachers College which shall be known as the Dunedin Teachers College Council and shall comprise the following members:

(a) The Principal of the Dunedin Teachers College;

(b) Two officers of the Department of Education, to be nominated by the Director-General of Education;

(c) Two members of the Otago Education Board appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Otago Education Board;

(d) One member of the Southland Education Board appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Southland Education Board;

(e) Two members appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Council of the University of Otago;

(f) One member, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Southern Regional Branch of the New Zealand Secondary School Boards Association and who shall be a member of that Association;

(g) One member, to be appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute;

(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. (1) There shall be a governing body for the Hamilton Teachers College which shall be known as the Hamilton Teachers College Council and shall comprise the following members:

(a) The Principal of the Hamilton Teachers College;

(b) Two officers of the Department of Education, to be nominated by the Director-General of Education;

(c) Two members of the South Auckland Education Board appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the South Auckland Education Board;

(d) Seven members appointed by the Minister of Education on the nomination of the Council of the University of Waikato. These members shall comprise:

(i) The Chancellor of the University of Waikato;

(ii) The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato;
