the matter shall be decided by lot. The ballot papers
may be destroyed on the expiry of one month from
the date of the annual general meeting.
(f) The Chairman of the meeting shall, immediately
following the adoption of the annual report and
balance sheet, read out the names of the members
successful in the ballot and the number of votes
received by each candidate and declare them elected
to the Council for the prescribed period of office.
(g) Unless at a meeting of the Council, held prior to
the Secretary calling for nominations in accordance
with Rule 9(a) hereof, it should be resolved that
this rule shall not apply to that election, then each
candidate shall supply to the Secretary a personal
statement having reference to his candidature, such
personal statement shall be, as nearly as may be,
biographical in form and shall consist of not more
than 40 words nor less than 20 words in addition
to the candidate's name, occupation, and address.
The Secretary may then take such steps as he deems
necessary to promulgate such statements to members.
(h) Subject only to the provision of Rule 9 (g) hereof,
no canvassing or touting shall be allowed. Any breach
of this rule by a candidate or with his acquiescence
or consent shall be deemed to disqualify the
candidate from election.
Disqualification of any candidate under this rule shall not
operate to invalidate the voting paper under Rule 9(c)
hereof but the votes thereon for the disqualified candidate
shall be disregarded.

Approval to Hunt or Kill Game During an Open Season
for Game Where Food Has Been Cast, Thrown, Placed,
or Planted
Pursuant to section 17 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister
of Internal Affairs approves persons to hunt or kill game
of the species listed in the First Schedule hereto, during
an open season for game in the acclimatisation district named
in the Second Schedule hereto, where food has been cast,
thrown, placed, or planted during the 1974–75 open season
for game or during the period 30 days immediately preceding
the 1974–75 open season for game, and subject to the conditions specified in the Third Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Grey, shoveler (or spoon bill), mallard, and paradise duck,
black swan, and Canada goose.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Otago Acclimatisation District.
THIRD SCHEDULE
Conditions

  1. The conditions specified in the 1974–75 Game Season
    Notification for the South Island apply.
  2. This approval will expire at the end of the duration of
    the open season for game specified in the notice referred
    to in 1.

    Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 5) 1974
    Pursuant to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby
    gives notice as follows:
  3. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control
    Exemption Notice (No. 5) 1974.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the day after
    the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
  4. Goods of the class specified and for the purposes of
    the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff item in the
    Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce
    or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from
    the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.
