The Secondary School Grants Notice 1974
Pursuant to regulation 3 of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974, the Minister of Education and the Minister of Finance hereby jointly give the following notice.
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Secondary School Grants Notice 1974.

The basis of calculating the amount of grants made for general administration to the governing body of any school in accordance with the provisions of the Secondary School Grants Regulations 1974, S.R. 1974/23, shall be as follows:
(a) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (a) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the number of pupils enrolled in each school under the control of the governing body shall be calculated as follows:
NORMAL DAY CLASSES
Number of Pupils for Each School Governing Body Yearly Rate of Payment per Pupil $
For the first 100 pupils 42.10
For the next 200 pupils 25.80
For the next 300 pupils 17.60
For all pupils in excess of 600 14.80
(b) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (b) of regulation 4 of the said regulations in respect of the weekly teaching half days spent in instructing and supervising technical and continuation day and evening classes shall be calculated as follows:

For the first 400 in classes that are vocational 42.00
For all in classes that are vocational in excess of 400 21.00
(c) A grant payable in accordance with paragraph (c) of regulation 4 of the said regulations at the rate of $2 for every pupil who, on the 1st day of March in the year of the grant is enrolled for the purpose of attending any approved class for manual instruction, which grant shall be expended on the provision of materials for, and the incidental expenses of, all such classes.
(d) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 7 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of library assistants employed at schools under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale:

(e) A grant payable in accordance with regulation 8 of the said regulations in respect of the actual cost of the wages of persons employed as clerical assistants, laboratory assistants or nursing aides in each school under the control of the governing body in accordance with the following scale:

Crown Land Set Apart as State Forest Land
Pursuant to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been set apart as State forest land as from the date of publication hereof.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT-AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY-THAMES COUNTY
SECTION 10, Block XIII, Hastings Survey District: area, 159.9772 hectares, more or less (S.O. Plan 30352).
As shown on plan N. 44/18 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

As shown on plans S. 97/1 and S. 106/5 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.
SECONDLY, Rural Sections 4850, 4852, and 4854 situated in Blocks I, II, and V, Turnbull Survey District; Block XIV, Okuru Survey District; Blocks IV and VIII, Arawata Survey District: area, 2,580 acres, more or less (S.O. Plan 5806).

The Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice No. 1, 1974
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice No. 1, 1974.

The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.
-
The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

The Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice No. 1, 1973, dated the 27th day of September 1973, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulations 27 and 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to roads situated within Hamilton City is hereby revoked.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Situated within Hamilton City:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from the north-western boundary of Hamilton City to Vardon Road and from Mangaonua Stream to Riverlea Road and from a point 60 metres measured southerly generally along the said highway from Anglesea Street to a point 40 metres measured westerly generally along the said highway from Johnsviee Terrace.
