Environmental Impact Report Notifiedβ€”Wakaaranga Creek Development

THE Commission for the Environment gives notice that it has received an environmental impact report on the proposed Wakaaranga Creek development on the Tamaki Estuary. Representations in writing on the environmental aspects of the project, as it is explained in the report, will be received at the office of the Commission, P.O. Box 12-42, Wellington, until Friday, 31 January 1975.

Copies of the report may be purchased from Manukau City Council, Private Bag, Manurewa, Auckland, and may be seen at public libraries in Manurewa, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, the Hocken Library, and the libraries of the seven university institutions.

Amending and Assigning the Foreshore Licence Authorising Arthur James Ballantyne to Occupy a Site for a Boatshed, Walkway, and Wharf at Thule Bay

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, I, Peter Edwards Muers of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport hereby give notice that the licence of 20 June 1973* authorising Arthur James Ballantyne to occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Thule Bay, Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island as a site for a boatshed, walkway, and wharf is hereby amended by deleting the expression "twenty dollars ($20)" and substituting the expression "six dollars ($6)", and I further give notice that the licence is hereby assigned to Imelda Bernadette Ballantyne.

Licensing Major Leonard Lane to Occupy a Site for a Jetty, Fish Processing Factory, and Pipeline at Motukauri Island, Whangaroa Harbour

PURSUANT to section 162 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Peter Edward Muers of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby license and permit Major Leonard Lane (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include his administrators, executors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Motukauri Island, Whangaroa Harbour, as shown on plan marked M.D. 15435 and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a jetty, fish processing factory, and pipeline as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS

(1) This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960 and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

(2) The term of the licence shall be 5 years from the 1st day of December 1974.

(3) The premium payable by the licensee shall be twenty dollars ($20) and the annual sum so payable by the licensee shall be two hundred dollars ($200); provided always that the Minister may review the annual sum payable at the end of the first year or any subsequent year of the said term.

The Standards Act 1965β€”Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the draft New Zealand standard specifications listed in the Schedule hereto are being circulated. All persons who may be affected by these specifications, and who desire to comment thereon, may, upon application, obtain one copy of each on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington 1.

Additional copies are obtainable at 50c a copy from the same address.

The closing dates for the receipt of comment are shown in the second column of the said Schedule.

Approval of Motor-Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1956

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves for the purpose of regulation 29 of the said regulations, motor-cycle safety helmets of the makes and types described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

(i) Safety helmets manufactured by Reinforced Glass Products (1969) Ltd. marked "Speedway Jet Helmet" and bearing the certification of N.Z.S. 1884 and the licence number 2102.

(ii) Safety helmets manufactured by Max Cheshire Ltd. marked "G.T.6" and bearing the certification of N.Z.S. 1884 and the licence number 2038.

(iii) Safety helmets manufactured by Thetford Moulded Products Ltd. marked "Centurion X250 GT" and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution BS2001.

(3) The notice in the Gazette, dated 26 September 1974, relating to the approval of safety helmets manufactured by Bell Helmets Inc., and marked "Star 120", "R-T" and "Super Magnum" is hereby revoked.
