Flying Officer D. E. Neal is granted an extension of his commission until 13 May 1976.
Flying Officer J. G. Sinclair is granted an extension of his commission until 8 June 1976.
Relinquishments
Temp. Flight Lieutenant L. M. C. Page relinquishes his command of 32 ATC Squadron and is transferred to the Supernumerary List for 1 year, with effect from 3 May 1973, as Flying Officer with seniority from 2 October 1972.
Flight Lieutenant P. A. Martell relinquishes his command of 2 ATC Squadron and is transferred to the Supernumerary List for 1 year with effect from 8 May 1973.
Flying Officer B. F. Martin relinquishes his command of 16 Squadron and is transferred to the Supernumerary List for 2 years with effect from 1 June 1973 as Pilot Officer with seniority from 24 February 1972.
Transfers
Pilot Officer G. M. Stone is transferred from 5 ATC Squadron to 21 ATC Squadron with effect from 6 March 1973.
Pilot Officer D. F. Jowett is transferred from Waitaki Boys’ High School to 26 ATC Squadron with effect from 1 May 1973.

Pilot Officer Allan Gregory Fairhall is transferred to the Supernumerary List until 31 December 1974 with effect from 1 May 1973.

Appointment of Committee of Inquiry Under Section 13 of the Trade and Industry Act 1956, to Inquire Into the Cook Islands - New Zealand Fresh Fruit Trade
- Pursuant to section 13 of the Trade and Industry Act 1956 the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby appoints
David Arthur Shand
to be a committee to inquire into, investigate, and report on the fresh fruit trade between the Cook Islands and New Zealand.

The committee shall be called the Committee of Inquiry into the Cook Islands - New Zealand Fresh Fruit Trade.

In the inquiry into the fresh fruit trade between the Cook Islands and New Zealand the committee shall:
A. Investigate the purchasing, packaging, transportation, marketing, and distribution of Cook Islands fresh fruit in New Zealand.
B. Investigate the pricing and cost structure of Cook Islands fresh fruit from production through to consumption in New Zealand, including price relativity with supplies from other sources, particularly with a view to—
(a) Ascertaining whether the conditions of purchase and the prices paid to the growers are reasonable, and sufficient to induce appropriate development of the industry in the Cook Islands; and
(b) Ascertaining whether the margins of profit earned at various stages between production and consumption, and the price paid by the New Zealand consumer for Cook Islands fresh fruit are reasonable.
C. Recommend, where necessary, measures which could contribute to a better financial return to the Cook Islands fruit grower.
D. Examine the suitability of the arrangements which exist between Fruit Distributors Ltd. and the growers and Government of the Cook Islands, and recommend guidelines for arrangements which might prevail in the future for the importation, marketing, and distribution of Cook Islands fresh fruit in New Zealand.

In the inquiry into the Cook Islands - New Zealand fresh fruit trade the committee shall have regard to such matters as may from time to time be notified to it by the Minister of Trade and Industry.

The committee shall submit its report and recommendations to the Minister of Trade and Industry by 16 November 1973.
