Green Bay High School Board of Governors Notice 1973

Pursuant to section 54 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1.(1) This notice may be cited as the Green Bay High School Board of Governors Notice 1973.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1973.

  1. The Board of Governors of Green Bay High School shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board;

(b) Eight members elected by the parents of pupils attending the school; and

(c) Two members co-opted by the Board itself, if and when it thinks fit.

3.The Auckland Education Board shall cease to control Green Bay High School and the sole control of that school shall be vested in the Board of Governors constituted by clause 2 of this notice.

Amending a Licence Authorising Stewart Island Fishermen's Co-operative Ltd. to Erect and Use Electric Lines

Pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity amends the Licence dated the 16th day of June 1970 authorising Stewart Island Fishermen's Co-operative Ltd. to erect and use electric lines (Gazette, 25 June 1970, p. 1097) by deleting paragraph (b) of the Schedule and substituting the following paragraph:

"(b) In a south-westerly direction thence in a south-easterly direction generally following the foreshore supplying power for street lighting in Halfmoon Bay and to a filtration plant at the school swimming pool."

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Peter Acheson Presland and the Estate of John Ernest Presland, of Minaret Station, Lake Wanaka, by the Use of Water

Pursuant to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Peter Acheson Presland and the estate of John Ernest Presland, of Lake Wanaka, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations as if, in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934, it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent, under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1988 or until electricity is available from an electrical supply authority, whichever is the earlier.

  5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  6. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent the maximum capacity of the plant at the date of the consent is 6 kVA.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water race and pipeline leading to the powerhouse, giving a static head of approximately 50 ft.

(b) A Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.

(c) A tail race leading from the powerhouse to an unnamed stream flowing into Lake Wanaka.

As shown on the Plan N.Z.E.D. 876 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Pursuant to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
