The Traffic (Waitemata County—Albany and Glenfield Ridings)
Notice No. 1, 1973
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Trans-
port gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata
County—Albany and Glenfield Ridings) Notice No. 1, 1973. -
The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are
hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the
purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962. -
The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are
hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for
the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956. -
The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 2, 1971,
dated the 25th day of November 1971* under section 52 of
the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic
Regulations 1956, which relates to Waitemata County, and
the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 2, 1972, dated the
27th day of November 1972† under section 52 of the Transport
Act 1962, which relates to Waitemata County, are hereby
revoked.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Waitemata County:
At Glenfield and adjacent to Takapuna City, Northcote
Borough, Birkenhead Borough, and East Coast Bays Borough :
All that area, with the exception of those portions of
Target Road and Wairua Road described in the Second
Schedule hereto, bounded by a line commencing at a point
at the junction of the western boundary of East Coast Bays
Borough and the southern side of Sunset Road; thence
south-erly generally along the western boundary of East Coast
Bays Borough and the western boundary of Takapuna City
to the northern boundary of Northcote Borough; thence
westerly and southerly generally along the northern and
western boundaries of Northcote Borough to the northern
boundary of Birkenhead Borough; thence north-westerly
generally along the northern boundary of Birkenhead Borough
to the western bank of the Kaipatiki Creek; thence northerly
generally along the eastern banks of the Kaipatiki Creek, the
Oruamo Creek, and the Lignite Stream to a point due west
of the north-eastern side of the intersection of the No. 1
State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) and Sunset Road; thence
easterly generally by a right line to the said north-eastern
side of the said intersection, thence across Sunset Road at
right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence
north-easterly generally along the southern side of Sunset
Road to the commencing point.
At Albany:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the northern
end of Bush Road to a point 6 chains measured north-westerly
generally along the said State highway from The Avenue).
At Greenhithe:
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the northern side of Greehithe Road, 8 chains measured
easterly generally along Greenhithe Road from Churchhouse
Road; thence westerly generally along the northern side of
Greenhithe Road to the eastern side of Churchhouse Road;
thence northerly generally along the said roadside to the
southern bank of the Te Wharau Creek; thence north-westerly
generally following the bank of the said creek to the south-
eastern bank of Lucas Creek; thence south-westerly generally
along the said bank to the eastern shore of the Waitemata
Harbour; thence south-easterly generally along the said shore
to a point opposite the southern terminating point of Austin
Road; thence to the said terminating point; thence north-
easterly generally by a right line across View Road, to a
point on the north-eastern side of View Road, 12 chains
measured south-easterly generally along View Road from
Craig Road; thence north-easterly generally by a right line
to the south-eastern terminating point of Isobel Road; thence
northerly generally by a right line across Greenhithe Road
to the commencing point.
At Long Bay:
Bench Road (from the northern boundary of the East
Coast Bays Borough to the coast of the Hauraki Gulf).
Long Bay Drive (from the northern boundary of the East
Coast Bays Borough to Beach Road).
At Paremoremo:
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the junction
of the western side of Cutts Crescent with the northern side
of Paremoremo Block Road; thence north-westerly generally
along the northern side of Paremoremo Block Road to the
southern bank of the Paremoremo Creek; thence easterly
generally along the said bank of the said creek to a point
due north of a point on Paremoremo Block Road, 25 chains
measured south-easterly generally along Paremoremo Block
Road from Cutts Crescent; thence due south by a right line
to the said point on the northern side of Paremoremo Block
Road; thence north-westerly generally along the northern side
of the said road to the commencing point.
SECOND SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Waitemata County:
Adjacent to East Coast Bays Borough:
East Coast Road (from Glenvar Road to the western
boundary of East Coast Bays Borough).
Spencer Road (from East Coast Road to a point 24 chains
measured westerly generally along Spencer Road from East
Coast Road).
At Albany:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 6 chains
measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway
from Oteha Stream bridge to the northern end of Bush Road).
At Glenfield:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from Glendhu Road
to the northern boundary of Takapuna City).
Sunset Road.
Target Road (from Sunset Road to a point 24 chains
measured north-westerly generally along Target Road from
Sunnynook Road West and from a point 4 chains measured
south-easterly generally along Target Road from Ellice Road
to the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff)).
