(d) Persons convicted of any offence under the Gaming Act 1908 or of the following offences under the Crimes Act 1961; murder, attempted murder, manslaughter (not based on negligence), sections 188–204 (which relate to assaults and injuries to the person), crimes involving dishonesty or conspiracy to commit a crime, indecent acts, sexual offences, and the reference of the foregoing Acts shall be deemed to apply to any subsequent Act consolidating or in substitution thereof;

(e) Persons convicted in countries outside New Zealand of offences corresponding to those mentioned in paragraph (d).

Provided always that a committee established by the New Zealand Racing and Trotting Conferences upon being satisfied as to the character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of these rules should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person.

  1. All regulations previously made under section 33 of the Gaming Act 1908 by any such racing club registered as aforesaid shall be deemed to have been revoked at midnight on the day on which these rules are published in the said Gazette and shall thereafter have no effect.

The foregoing rules are hereby approved.

The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 5, 1973


PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 5, 1973.

  2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.


SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitemata County at Albany:

The Avenue (from No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 970 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said highway).

The Traffic (Whakatane Borough) Notice No. 1, 1973


PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Whakatane Borough) Notice No. 1, 1973.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The Traffic (Whakatane Borough) Notice No. 1, 1971, dated the 27th day of May 1971, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to Whakatane Borough, is hereby revoked.


FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Whakatane Borough:

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from a point 420 metres measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Arawa Road to the Southern boundary of Whakatane Borough).

Arawa Road (from Bridge Street to No. 2 State Highway) (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne)).

Carling Road.

Mokorua Gorge Road (from a point 240 metres measured easterly generally along the said road from No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to Whakatane-Kutarere Road).

Whakatane-Kutarere Road (from Wedgewood Place to the eastern boundary of Whakatane Borough).


SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Whakatane Borough:

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) (from a point 40 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Goulstone Road to a point 420 metres measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Arawa Road).

Arawa Road (from Bridge Street to No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne)).

Dated at Wellington this 19th day of October 1973.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Taranaki County) Notice No. 2, 1973.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956.


FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Taranaki County adjacent to New Plymouth:

Tukapa Street (from New Plymouth City boundary to a point 160 metres measured south-easterly generally along Tukapa Street).


SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within the Taranaki County at Mangorei:

Mangorei Road (from the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) to a point 640 metres measured northerly generally along the said road from the said State highway).
