Closing of a Girls’ Home

PURSUANT to section 9 of the Child Welfare Act 1925, the
Minister of Social Welfare hereby notifies that the premises
situated as listed in the Schedule below no longer constitute
an institution within the meaning of the said Act and shall
no longer be known by the name shown in the Schedule.

Notice—Nobel Peace Prize 1973

THE following conditions of the award of the Nobel Peace
Prize for 1973 are published for general information at the
request of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

ALL proposals of candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is
to be distributed 10 December 1973, must, in order to be
taken into consideration, be laid before the Nobel Committee
of the Norwegian Parliament by a duly qualified person before
the 1st day of February 1973.

Any one of the following persons is held to be duly qualified:

(a) Members and late members of the Nobel Committee of
the Norwegian Parliament, as well as the advisers
appointed at the Norwegian Nobel Institute;

(b) Members of Parliament and members of Government
of the different States, as well as members of the
Interparliamentary Union;

(c) Members of the International Arbitration Court at the
Hague;

(d) Members and associates of the Institute of International
Law;

(e) Members of the executive committee of the International
Peace Bureau;

(f) University professors of political science and of law, of
history, and of philosophy; and

(g) Persons who have received the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Nobel Peace Prize may also be accorded to institutions
or associations.

According to the Code of Statutes of the Nobel Foundation
section 8, the grounds upon which any proposal is made must
be stated and sent in along with such papers and other docu-
ments (including biographical information) as may therein be
referred to.

According to section 3, every written work, to qualify for
a prize, must have appeared in print.

The nominators are requested not to publish proposals.

All proposals should be sent to the Nobel Committee of the
Norwegian Parliament, Drammensveien 19, Oslo.


The Traffic (Manukau City) Notice No. 2, 1972

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Manukau City)
    Notice No. 2, 1972.

  2. All the roads in Manukau City, with the exception of
    those roads contained in the area specified in the First
    Schedule hereto, are hereby excluded from the limitation as
    to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for
    the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations
    1956 during the period commencing with the Wednesday
    following Easter each year and ending with the 30th day of
    November.

  4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas
    for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations

  5. The notices under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962
    and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956 dated
    23 June 1971*, and 22 September 1971†, and 18 October 1972‡,
    which relate to Manukau City, are hereby revoked.


FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED WITHIN MANUKAU CITY

At Ardmore:

All the area at Ardmore consisting of the area of land
formerly occupied by the School of Engineering, University
of Auckland, and the area occupied by the Ardmore Teachers
College.

At Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach:

All that area at Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach
bounded by a line commencing at the point where the northern
boundary of Howick Borough meets the shore of the Hauraki
Gulf; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to
the south-western side of Cherry Road; thence north-
westerly generally along the said side of Cherry Road to a
point opposite the southern end of Minaret Drive; thence
across Cherry Road at right angles from its south-western
side to its north-eastern side; thence northerly generally
by a right line to a point on the northern side of Gills
Road at its junction with Bucklands Beach Road; thence
northerly generally along the eastern side of Bucklands Beach
Road to a point 3 chains measured southerly generally along
the said road from Richard Avenue; thence across Bucklands
Beach Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western
side; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to the
eastern end of Half Moon Rise; thence westerly generally
along the southern side of Half Moon Rise to the western side
of Pigeon Mountain Road; thence northerly generally along the
said side of Pigeon Mountain Road to the shore of Tamaki
Estuary; thence northerly generally along the shore of the said
estuary and south-easterly generally along the shore of the
Hauraki Gulf to the commencing point.

At Beachlands:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the northern side of Beachlands Road, 5 chains measured
south-easterly generally along the said roadside from Shelly
Bay Road; thence north-easterly generally by a right line
across the eastern end of Third View Avenue to the shore
of the Hauraki Gulf; thence westerly generally along the said
shoreline to a point opposite the southern end of Puriri
Road; thence by a right line to the southern end of Puriri
Road; thence by a right line south-easterly generally to the
western end of Karaka Road; thence south-easterly generally
along the southern side of Karaka Road to its eastern end;
thence northerly generally by a right line to the commencing
point.

At Clevedon:

Clevedon-Kawakawa Road (from Papakura-Clevedon Road
to the entrance to the Clevedon Public School).

Papakura-Clevedon Road (from Hyde Road to North Road).

East Road (from Papakura-Clevedon Road to Hyde Road).

Hyde Road.

North Road (from Clevedon-Kawakawa Road to a point
18 chains measured northerly generally along North Road
from Thorps Quarry Road).

Adjacent to Howick Borough:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the eastern side of Botany Road at the southern boundary of
Howick Borough; thence southerly generally along the said
side of Botany Road for a distance of 40 chains; thence
due east by a right line to the western side of Whitford
Road; thence northerly generally along the said side of
Whitford Road to the southern boundary of Howick Borough;
thence westerly generally along the said boundary to the
commencing point.

At Kawakawa Bay:

Clevedon - Kawakawa Bay Road (from Kawakawa Bay).
(Orere Road to a point 12 chains measured south-westerly
generally along Clevedon - Kawakawa Bay Road from Kawa-
kawa Bay - Orere Road.)
