Licensing Ian Kenneth Ivey, Property Manager, of Fairlie, and Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd., Trustees in the Estates of Henry Arthur Le Cren and Edward Roland Guinness, to Erect and Use Electric Lines.

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby licenses Ian Kenneth Ivey, property manager, of Fairlie, and Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd., trustees in the estates of Henry Arthur Le Cren and Edward Roland Guinness, subject to the following conditions, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS

1. This licence is subject to compliance with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations.

2. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (d) and (j) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, and shall be an alternating current system.

3. This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1987.

SCHEDULE

Electric lines commencing from the licensee’s powerhouse and proceeding:

(a) In a southerly direction across two streams, then in a south-easterly direction to a transformer.

(b) From the transformer to a cookhouse, huts, a woolshed, two cottages, the homestead, and a store building.

All being situated in Run 89, Block VII, Tasman Survey District, in the County of Mackenzie, as shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 848 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Ian Kenneth Ivey, Property Manager, of Fairlie, and Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd., Trustees in the Estates of Henry Arthur Le Cren and Edward Roland Guinness, by the Use of Water

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Ian Kenneth Ivey, property manager, of Fairlie, and Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd., trustees in the estates of Henry Arthur Le Cren and Edward Roland Guinness, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

3. The generation of electricity by the means of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1987.

5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

6. For the purposes of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 12.5 kW.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a pipeline leading to the powerhouse giving a static head of approximately 350 ft.

(b) A Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity situated in Run 89, Block VII, Tasman Survey District.

(c) A tail race leading from the powerhouse to the Tasman River.

As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 848 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1969*, the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Akitio County) Notice No. 1, 1972.

2. The Akitio County Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.

3. So much of the notice dated the 12th day of April 1951† which relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.
