Declaring Land in the Otago Land District to be Crown Land
Subject to the Land Act 1948

Pursuant to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, the
Minister of Mines hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared
to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—BOROUGH OF KAITANGATA

Firstly, Section 16, Block XII, Town of Kaitangata: area,
1 rood, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 261,
folio 142 (S.O. Plan 14456).

Secondly, Lot 1, D.P. 8544, being Part Section 14, Block
XII, Town of Kaitangata: area, 8.73 perches, more or less.
All certificate of title, Volume 385, folio 249.

Save and excepting to Her Majesty the Queen all seams
or beds of coal and all other minerals or metals, and reserving
to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to
work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress,
egress, and regress under the said land.

Maori Land Development Notice

Whereas by virtue of the notice referred to in the First
Schedule hereto the land described in that notice was declared
to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori
Affairs Act 1953; and whereas it is desired to release that
land from the provisions of the said Part XXIV:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs
Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as
follows.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development
    Notice Whangarei 1972, No. 19.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is
    hereby revoked.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is
    hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the
    Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Whereas by virtue of the notice referred to in the First
Schedule hereto the land described in that notice was declared
to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori
Affairs Act 1953; and whereas it is desired to release certain
parcels of that land from the provisions of the said Part XXIV:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 332 of the Maori
Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives
notice as follows.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development
    Notice Gisborne 1972, No. 39.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is
    hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described
    in the Second Schedule hereto.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is
    hereby released from the provisions of Part XXIV of the
    Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Setting Apart Land as a Maori Reservation

Whereas by notice dated 25 May 1971 and published in the
Gazette, 27 May 1971, No. 38, p. 996, the land described in
the First Schedule hereto was set apart as a Maori reservation;
and whereas it is now desired to make amendments to the said
notice now, therefore, pursuant to section 439 of the Maori
Affairs Act 1953, notice is hereby given as follows.

NOTICE

  1. The reservation constituted by notice dated 25 May 1971
    and published in Gazette, 27 May 1971, No. 38, p. 996, relating
    to the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby
    cancelled.

  2. The whole of the land described in the Second Schedule
    hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the
    purpose of a burial ground for the benefit of the Ngati Haumia
    and the Ngati Mutunga tribes.
